turn 'n tender

we had an amazing family lunch on sunday as we took full advantage of their amazing r41 for a sirloin birthday special. obviously we all ordered the special. i was so impressed with the service and food quality considering the hoards frequenting the restaurant.

on sunday the 16th of jan, l ordered a burger meal from the cresta restaurant. on arrival the food was all over looking as if it had just been thrown into boxes and delivered. as if that was not enough we realised the burger rolls were stale and the beef patties were burnt so much so that they were bitter.

i proceeded to write an uber eats review which was ignored. i went further as to go and visit the cresta shop manager (because that is how disappointed l was) on wednesday the 19th of jan and alert him of my concern. he took my number and he too also ignored me and didnt come back to me at all to date.

for the price of your food and the quality that you are delivering l will surely not be ordering from you ever again!!

the meat isn’t fresh. it imagine opening your meal and being hit by a bad smell?!! the pap has been the best part of the meal on two occasions now. maybe covid but don’t order for delivery.

love this spot. meat is expensive in general but the prices are not bad.
rather spend a little extra here than go to a boring spur

very rich and creamy; a bit too salty. the butternut and veggies are too plain; need butter to enrich it.

iv been to this branch a couple of times.... iv had some good and some bad times but overall it's been good... we often have their burger special that's always a winner... i tried their new fish on the menu i don't think it was the greatest but their meat is always a win

my partner and i came here for a meal before we went to catch a movie .

it was quite empty and we initially opted for an outdoors table but later moved indoors to a booth . the outdoor tables overlook the parking lot and there’s too much going on outside it was a bit distracting for me .
my partner wanted to smoke and i don’t think the place caters for smokers because there was a no smoking sign in the outdoor area and i doubt you could smoke inside so a heads up for the smokers .
our waiter was super friendly and gave us great service .

the decor and atmosphere of the place have a very vintage feel . i really liked the lights that are hanging from the ceiling they create a soft mood and the place doesn’t feel too much like a diner . to eat we both ordered the ribs and calamari combo . but i had the tubed calamari and my partner the squid heads . the ribs were so juicy and succulent . and the calamari was great ,i absolutely enjoyed the lemon and butter sauce it was swimming in .
the food was really good but it took a while to cool down . really wish more restaurants would invest in cooling plates.

they also give you these purple bibs which are super cute . and they came in handy because my partner was wearing a white shirt and is quite a messy eater .

this is a great spot and would definitely recommend it .

wow, what an amazing dining experience! my husband and i went to turn 'n tender for a meal to ourselves last friday night. i booked a table in advance and received an sms to confirm my booking.

we were seated and attended to quickly, our drinks arrived promptly and we were given just enough time to decide on our meal. the waitress was very professional and took our order with a smile.

then the food arrived - all i can say is "wow!". our meal was truly spectacular and reasonably priced for the large portions. i had the calamari and steak combo, and my only complaint is that the calamari was a bit cold.

the restaurant was fairly dimly lit, but this added to the great ambiance - it was quite a romantic setting and the general chatter was enough to indicate that everyone was having a good time.

went for a celebratory drink with a colleague of mine. the restaurant was not busy at all however the service was as if the restaurant was full.. dissapointingly slow.

wednesday night just got better a lovely 200g sirloin grilled to medium perfection served with some vegetables, absolutely great.
the night out was topped off with excellent service from our man nhlanhla he was fantastic, and gave us good run down of the meats available.
it was good night

been there twice before... great service and good food. took our kids there tonight and was charged r100 for a kiddies meal with 4 very small riblets and very crispy chips that my kids could not eat. feel the kiddies meal is overpriced for what you get. guess we won't be going back.

went for dinner. although all other turn and tenders serve local beer on tap, the cresta branch does not. after waiting a considerable time for drinks we were then told that they had run out of all steaks except 200g sirloin. a steakhouse without steaks on a weekend is a joke and especially if you are only notified of this after ordering drinks. hope this is not the famous brands influence...

the food is great, recommendations from me would me the garlic bread and squid heads for starters. they make very good steak and the ribs are really good. the ambiance is really good. service can be good sometimes and not so good at other times. but generally good. prices have gone up but i still do think it's worth it.

food was good as always and service was also good. they did however become very pricy and most certainly overcharge for drinks. not my favorite restaurant anymore

second date night and boy, we were not disappointed! the fillet steak was cooked to perfection and the ribs, just delicious. well worth it and we will be back for sure
