turkish cafe & lounge

the night was v good. they had special iftar menu which is super for this part of the world. the entertainment was also great, shisha available, prompt service, both my friend and i had lamb dishes. was good, with hot teas.

ok to start their food and drinks were great, but i was tortured to death with heat. although they have a mixed indoor, oitdoor, deck seatings; for the buffet they only have the hot and humid outside option and most of the fans dis not work. they did not allow us to eat in am air conditioned section. pure torture. wanted to continue drinking, but had to go to cristinas for that! to sit in some a/c!

horrible service!
we came here for father's day and left very disappointed. 
the server was super rude and unprofessional. the guy never smiled the whole time. after we ordered 9 dishes, we received 7 out of 9 and were told that the rest are coming. we waited 5 minutes till we asked about the status of other dishes because our food was getting cold and we wanted to have dinner together. at that time, we were told that the other 2 dishes are coming out, so others started on their dishes. everyone was done by the time the other two dishes came out!
further, while the quality of the food was ok and not exceptional, it was certainly overpriced. (you can probably see their menu online)
what left me astound was the fact that they didn't have the top two items on the menu (they said they are out of it!). this is surprising because the top items on the menu tend to be signature dishes for restaurants and surpizng to be out on a special day like father's day. 
the horrible service didn't stop there; right after we finished eating, the waiter brought our checks without asking us if we wanted to have desert. at that point, we were so disappointed to where we just paid and left.
its needless to say that they changed %18 tip, which was around $60 for our tab. i personally think that one of the main reasons the service is horrible at this place is the mandatory tip that is being charged. with the overpriced food, the waiters know that regardless of how much they care, they get paid pretty well.
i don't write reviews very often, but i used them in regular bases. i thought i should write this review to help others avoid such a bad experience.

wow wow wow . fantastic place to be on a friday night . they are open till 2 am. had a wonderful time with half a dozen friends . food is awesome and the drinks are reasonably priced . the service is fantastic.

i'm giving you the good, the bad, and the ugly truth. you get there and are forced to valet. it's $5 that seriously i should have, could have parked myself. but you can't because they put cones on other restaurants spaces. you enter and they bring you to the patio. the atmosphere is great. live dj and belly dancers. so much fun! feel like dancing? go at it! the staff is incredibly good and pay loads of attention kept checking our hookah to make sure it was good. however sometimes too much attention is given. the owner is the definition of a helicopter mom with chest hair and a low v button down . and the hostess lady was so nice that she shook my hand like 5 times and hugged me on my way out as if she was my aunt. mmm okay i don't mind that, i'll take it. they have a cool projector screen playing videos on the wall. and although a cool feature they pretty much play weird cheesy videos about turkey. and i mean cheese like canned cheese. pretty sure they type turkey on youtube and play that. at one point it was this weird video of a person on a horse flying through turkey with the cheesiest special fx and then at another time it was like a pbs type program of two white people watching turkish men wrestle each other. turkish fight club anyone? anyways it gave for some hilarious confusion and enough weird material to forget you're not getting high and what you are actually smoking is tobacco. the food is really great but the prices went way up i'm sure. the drinks are expensive and the tea was sooo tiny. it's a good place, real turks hang out here so it must be authentic. i don't know i'm mexican, but i know good food and they have it. i do enjoy the staff a lot and it's a good time. i'll definitely go again and again. i really love laughing at the bad videos and eating good food. owner dude, tone it down your staff is already great. make sure the music isn't too loud as i like to hear when the person next to me speaks. belly dancers and violin dj guy, you rock!!!!

the service is beyond bad!!! food is good but service sucks on another level of bad!!!

great place! the live musician was unbelievable, the decor was beautiful, and the food was tasty. the service is not incredibly prompt, but it goes with the atmosphere of the place-- they expect you to relax, take your time, and enjoy yourself. we sat at our table for two hours and were not rushed away by the staff by any stretch of the imagination. a great way to spend a saturday night!

beautiful decor but atrocious service and very bland, over-priced food. our waiter was awful: ran away from the table asap, never took our drink order, and never checked on us. also denied our request to sit by the water. didn't get his name, but he looks like gary oldman. they served us water in a broken glass then we had to go find him for the replacement. there were only 3 tables occupied, so there really was no excuse for the negligence. save your money and go somewhere else.

the worse service. we were here the first time, im actually surprised how they can get so many customers in this place, but at the end of the day after 9pm i realized that they all are coming to listen to music, dance and just drink something... the service is horrible, no sorries nothing, food was coming completely cold, didnt blame my waiter, he had so many tables, and so much pressure from management , the chocolate pudding was the worse desert i have ever had in my life, the tables,and dinner plates are tooooo small, and if you request for a bigger table they give you an attitude, were asked mor than 7 times if we made a reservation, dj is :(((( they knew we were there for the first time, nobody even came to ask if we are satisfied... over all they deserve only 2 stars

fun atmosphere. food and hookah pricey. some waiters are nice some are not.

consistant horrible service. please, please get rid of that cheesy violin guy. i tried this place for the second time just to see any progress has been made since my first review. the food is still decent but the service is plain disaster. the wait staff is rude, cocky and act like they are doing you a favor. the service is extremely slow and no apologies are made by the management. this is what happens when you add 20% tip on all tabs regardless of the number of guest for lunch and dinner.

great patio.. nice atmosphere.. fun place...service is slow..

great food and excellent atmosphere. takes longer than most restaurants to get food, but well worth it! great complimentary appetizers and great friendly and attentive service!
