i have had their sushi platters to take away and while it’s pricey, the quality is amazing and worth what you are paying. sushi is fresh and melt in your mouth tender. we also tried their sashimi, udon for the kids as well as their cabbage side dish.

it was recommended by my friend in sydney who is also japanese like myself. i loved all their food and price is reasonable compared to melbourne’s japanese food. every ingredients tasted fresh and they have a great selection of sake. i would definately recommend anyone looking for authentic japanese to make a visit. tucked away in a residential area of cammeray. i also loved how they played “showa music” :) keep us the good work!!

rang on sunday evening at 730 to reserve a table for 3 people for 815pm on the same night. however due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to make it. we rang straightaway at 8pm to cancel our reservation only to be abused over the phone by the manager for not letting them know sooner. even after apologising to him, he just kept abusing us until finally we just hung up. we were wanting to visit this restaurant for some time and would have postponed our visit for another night. however, after the way were treated, we would never visit this place even if it was the last japanese restaurant in the world. there are plenty of wonderful japanese restaurants nearby that we will continue to patronise in the future.

please note, there is a common theme to many of the reviews on this establishment. many people have commented on the rudeness of the manager and lack of customer service. it's probably high time you listen to the people who pay your wage and support your business and stop treating people like it's a privilege to be your customer.

what a beautiful find in this little suburb,
we were absolutely blown away by the quality of food here. service is top notch, super accommodative even though we rocked up at 7pm with no booking but endeavour to find us a table and ended up only waiting for 15 minutes. will definitely be back again for the degustation menu.

sometimes the decor of the restaurant doesn’t match expectations and sometimes you know when you sit down, you’re in for a great meal. we wanna just straight up give this place a five but that would break out own rule :)

this place is definitely a hidden gem and honestly you can’t say you’ve had real japanese food until you eat here. simply one of the best in sydney, yeap i’m foodie shaming you into coming here!

everything was great duh~!

food is good, fresh, pricy. everytime when i make the booking, he always tell me ’minimum spending is $50 per person’. i only here this in this restaurant. while it’s easy to make it over$50, sashimi is $100 per person, food is good anyway.

i once considered this place to be a hidden gem. the food was great, the atmosphere cosy and intimate, and best of all it was well hidden and frequented only by regular customers and those with recommendations. however, a recent experience has completely changed my impression of a place i once enjoyed so much.

the customer service at toriciya is without a doubt the worst i have experienced anywhere in sydney. the manager was extremely rude towards our table to the point i was embarrassed to have brought my friends from out of town here for dinner. we were continuously pressured to finish and hand back to table even though it took them an eternity to bring the food out! this is a true reflection of their willingness to sacrifice customer satisfaction for profit.

if you enjoy dining at fast food restaurants, this is the place for you. if you enjoy an authentic yakitori restaurant with great food, atmosphere and great service, head to yakitori yurippi at crows nest.

having been a frequent customer at toriciya during the last 8 years, this occasion will be my last!

very rude service by the owner , was rushed during meal to finished , how can a family of four with two young children finished 8 dishes in half an hour ? food is definitely way overrated . how can they called themselves a japanese restaurant for such a poor service and food quality .
much better yakitori down at road at crows nest for half the price.
not even worth one star if i have a choice to give no star.

very nice restaurant! it’s a really authentic japanese restaurant runs by real japanese people. the scallop and the matcha creme brulee were really good. the matcha was the best that i could find in sydney. not to forget the chef was kind enough to explain the fishes and took a picture of us

love their miso eggplant and grilled sea bass fish head yet the yakitori are very good as well! authentic japanese little restaurant, eggplant was slightly fried and served with a thick spread of miso sauce on top, the tangy sweet taste made me lick my fingers! the grilled bass fish head was seasoned with salt, the meat was very tender and juicy! wasnt dry and overcooked at all!
