a pleasant experience. really good food, a pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, large portions, and the owner even comes around to see how things are going. my first time there, a recommend spot by my wife. a place to revisit.

sadly, since this was originally written in 2011, despite being a favourite (my wife loved the lasagna), we have noted a decline in the food.  the rosemary and interesting dinner rolls are gone, now replaced with "loblaws best", or some similar pedestrian cheap mass produced roll.  the sauces have changes, and not for the better, the portions diminishing. the calamari used to be a great appetizer, but it has dramatically dropped in portion. the toasted ravioli though remains consistent over the years, though the sauce is thinning. the past four visits have been "maybe this will be the last", and sadly, i think that it may have come to pass after the thoroughly disappointing birthday visit for my wife, with family and friends.

bland spaghetti sauce - bland meat balls. the spaghetti was ok and the serving was big but the sauce and meatballs were bland, bland, bland.. i was hoping for better from an italian place. i got it on take out and it was about $17 so i left a $20. i could have done better at home and had plenty leftover.

i don't think i'll go back. i really was hungry for tasty, tangy spaghetti, not something that tasted like it was thawed out from a grocery store. too bad.

classic italian restaurant with the familiar and inspired atmosphere. all of your favorites are on the menu, in a restaurant that will always satisfy even the pickiest eaters. very friendly and accommodating staff, great selection and value all wrapped up in a restaurant style that is not as common these days. thankfully this restaurant remains a popular staple.

overpriced and awful. ordered veal stuffed with garlic and cheese over a bed of pasta. presentation was awful - like someone had just poured supermarket tomato sauce over the veal and the pasta - and it tasted like supermarket tomato sauce. my wife had a pasta with sausage and spicy peppers. although she likes it spicy, that's all she tasted - no other flavours came through. again, the presentation was awful. it was like something you'd prepare at home - scoop up some pasta, pour on some sauce and stir it around. service was fairly quick, although the server never offered water. total cost of meal including two glasses of wine was $55. how do these guys stay in business ??

for whatever reason, i’ve been wanting to try tony capone’s italian grill for a while now. i’ve driven past it a million times over the years, always intrigued, but not to the point of being tempted. until a few weeks ago, i stopped for lunch – only to find out that it was closed. thankfully, it was open today.

we went there for the first time last week. first of all, the place looks kind of run down but once sat, we really enjoyed the real italian vibe. we all ordered different dishes and they were all spectacular. the pastas were all cooked right and the sauces were to die for. i can't remember the exact name of my dish but it was tortellini in a rose sauce and i enjoyed every bite. our waitress was amazing. not only was she on the ball with everything she even brought out a special dessert for my boyfriend who was celebrating a birthday. nobody asked her to do it and she did it on her own. hats off to her and her spectacular service. i will certainly be going back here. it's my new favourite italian place .

i've been here 3 times. their chicken parmagiana is "okay", really nothing special, especially for the price. the bread at the start of the meal is usually good, though last time i didn't get the same variety as i usually do.

i once tried their calamari, which was average, and was extremely expensive when you factor in that i literally only got 6 pieces.

overall, this place is "okay", but i'd hardly call it "good" italian. if you're used to dining at east side mario's, then this place will be a massive improvement. otherwise, i'd say it is overpriced, mediocre food.

delicious, lots of choices, big servings, good price and service. i'm not sure what the reviewer below me is talking about. i ate there this evening with a large group and everything turned out great. good, efficient service (although the waitress could have smiled more). everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. i had a shrimp pasta dish and it was amazing. definitely did not taste like "frozen italien food". i am not the pickiest critic though but i would definitely recommend giving this place a try. the menu is pretty extensive and you will definitely find something you like!

this food is literally the worst. today, i went to tony capone's to try some authentic italian cuisine, what i walked away with is possibly the worst italian food known to man. it tasted like the restaurant had a freezer full of italian to go meals that they warmed up and served. utter garbage!

the restaurant itself is very outdated, old carpets, dark, and i even spotted cobwebs on the light fixture. the food is nothing special either- large bowls of pasta that you could ultimately make better in your own home. the scallops in my dish were overdone with no flavour, upsetting as i was looking forward to them. the drinks were fine, service mediocre. overall i would give this place a 4/10 and suggest they reduce the selection on the menu and offer fewer dishes that they could master in order to actually impress the crowd.

doing the right thing. today i went to tony capone's for my birthday dinner with my wife, two daughters and my dad. the food was plentiful and excellent! the servers paid special attention to my girls. the owner himself went above and beyond to ensure that i had great birthday experience.

thank you!

we will back.

casual, friendly. maybe not upscale or classic italian, but it's good food, and plenty of it, served by friendly, professional staff.
