damn!! this place has one of the best japanese food ever. the food so rich in flavour and the quantity enough for 2 people. definitely worth the money when all your taste buds are sensing

came here expecting japanese curry, to my surprise the all the staff were speaking korean. as we were too hungry to hunt for another place to eat, we went ahead and ordered the pork katsu curry and gyoza. the food was pretty good as we already anticipated that it'll be a korean style curry but i was a bit disappointed as i have been hoping to eat japanese style curry.

really love the $1 sushi deals!great music,  great vibes,  great location~really love the style of the restaurant as it brings back memories of my trip to japan.10/10 will be back again!

on the 2nd of june, i ordered you chicken sushi, as it was my first time ordering sushi from your shop i was highly disappointed, when i came home feeling nauseous. today i have been hospitalized due to food poisoning. i spoke to the manager but he disagreed with me saying that it could not have been his sushi that made me sick. this however is false because i had not eaten anything else that day. i felt a lack of concern on his part and feel disappointed in your lack of customer service and lack of good hygiene standards.

the setup of the restaurant is confusing, with their self serve sushi section at the beginning of the shop and the restaurant dining at the back, therefore my friend and i were queued and confused, people were pushing ahead of us before we could speak to the staff and thus we were standing unattended to for about 5 minutes, would have been nice to have had a staff member approach and direct us as is the norm at restaurants. however, my first impressions were quickly shifted, the service was phenomenally aware and attentive, the food came out very fast. and boy, was that an incredible meal! it was so so so delicious, cannot wait to eat there again. also it was very filling, neither of us were able to finish our meals, which was unexpected considering the affordable price. i really greatly appreciated the vegan key, that is a rare feature of restaurants and it saves a lot of effort on my part.

we were desperate for food so walked into tj katsu and ordered the deep fried vegetable gyoza, chicken katsu curry and chicken katsu with teriyaki udon. service was slow but the portion sizes were huge and we were more than satisfied at the end. highlights include the crispy and juicy katsu, the suprisingly piquant fried udon, the mildly fermented miso soup, and the copious amounts of curry sauce which they made spicier to my liking. lowlights included the gyoza which lacked flavour and juiciness and the undercooked potatoes that came with the curry. overall a good experience and value for money for a fast food chain restaurant.

outstanding a++ the service is always top notch and the staff go out of there way to make sure you have a great experience.

when i first came to wellington i was amazed at the self service sushi. tj katsu has the best layout and variety of sushi. i love it, its so delicious and the kitchen menu has good portions and prices. also cool music and decor!

best sushi in town and awesome crispy chicken skewers! great prices and opening hours too.
i takeaway at least once a week but always nice to eat in occasionally as the staff are so friendly

i'm plain devastated that i can't give this restaurant a higher rating based on the simple seating arrangement. but that is the only negative thing i can bring myself to say.

i really was unsure about eating here but the moment the food was placed in front of us i was thoroughly impressed. edamame was a new thing for me and it made a perfect warm up for the meal to come. swiftly followed by teriyaki chicken curry and vegetarian dumplings. everything about the meal from how it was presented to how it tasted was a pleasure.

the whole experience was fun, eating with chopsticks, the crazy artwork on the walls and menus and the japanese music playing in the background. i will be looking forward to my return trip :)

busy lunchtime spot. pretty good selection on offer. all the standard sushi variants are here. prices are clearly marked and reasonable.

i sat in with two colleagues. i ordered a mix of 5 pieces. the sushi is good, especially the octopus balls. i thoroughly enjoyed those. had them in other places and they've been slimy, but not theses. very tasty.

the only thing that wasn't the best was the wasabi. they offer the sachets. i don't like the wasabi from these as much. it's not a show stopper for me, but a preference.

overall, enjoyable sushi. will visit again.

this place is a must for anyone looking for a quick, healthy, and tasty bite to eat. there was a bit of a mix up with our order but they rectified it immediately and we found everything to be delicious! next time i will definitely try out the sushi.

this is not sushi imo. they use long grain rice instead of japanese rice. too much of sauces everywhere .very greasy. the lady behind counter was keep talking in chinese to other work mates.  very disappointed for my first visit
