great find, good value. our group of seven arrived on the holiday weekend of labor day. the place was not crowded at six thirty. we were greeted by a friendly waiter who brought us plates of black olives and crunchy rolls and butter. we started with appetizers of octopus salad (excellent - $10), seafood bisque (excellent w/cilantro - nice touch $4) and the plate of honor, a flaming plate with portuguese sausage (juicy, amazing, not spicy $10), washed down with a pitcher of sangria (sweet, fruity, close to the actual taste but not quite - $17). our entrees: paella (seafood - amazing, huge and full of clams mussels shrimp, scallops and half lobster on saffron rice - $21) a chicken & shrimp dish in white wine/butter/garlic sauce (ok, sauce good) also had a pork loin dish (ok) and grilled salmon dish that was tasty. portions are generous. service was ok and friendly. dessert was adequate, not special. choice of choco mousse or flan. flan bettter than mousse due to springy texture of mousse. decaf espresso was also tasty but would have been much better served at the same time as the dessert instead of after we finished it. maybe this was a cultural thing? at the end, we met the owner who brought out to our table two huge tiger shrimp, bigger than lobsters (12-15 oz) to show us one of their specialties. he was nice and welcoming. place is kid-friendly. there is a $4 fee for sharing a entree. the neighborhood doesn't look that nice, but we found safe parking right out front, and the restaurant was comfortable. there is a bar below, but the entrance to the restaurant is on the side street, leading upstairs. bill was about $100 for three people (we left with tons of leftovers however due togenerousportions) all in all, we would recommend this place and we hope to return in the future.
