this review is overdue and thinking about it was definitely one of my best experiences of the year! i looked for a restaurant out of town to take my in-laws (visiting from glasgow) and we were not disappointed. on a friday afternoon, down a fairly long dirt road, a beautiful tin roof building with gardens, a warm & generous welcome, horses in a nearby field, birds singing and beetles chirping .. idyllic. we spent a beautiful afternoon in the garden having a long, lazy, lovely lunch ! we started with poppers which i am not sure are still on the menu - yummy - then i had steak with peppercorn sauce and the in-laws both chose chicken scaloppine, my husband had the norwegian salmon absolutely fabulous, there was nothing left on our plates & if polite company allowed i think we may have licked them !! and then for dessert i had the passion pavlova which was sublime .. service was attentive, thoughtful & efficient. my mother-in-law is still talking about our meal 2 months later !
