excellent theme park food at a reasonable cost. the manager told me that all of the food is made from scratch daily and it is delicious. if you have a large party, order the great feast which is a large portion of roasted chicken, ribs, potatoes and steamed veggies, very flavorful. if you have never had the butterbeer, it is non-alcoholic, you should try it at least once. frozen is my favorite but it also server at room temperature.

part 1 of the recap of my orlando theme park adventure with ever awesome friend 'curses' covered  walt disney world .  part 2 of course, as a huge harry potter geek, is all about universal studios orlando - or rather, the wizarding world of harry potter at universal studios. first challenge : getting there.  with all the convenience of free shuttles within and between walt disney world properties, the major disadvantage of staying at a disney resort for those who want to visit other theme parks - is there is no easy way to get to other venues via public transportation.  it would take hours with lots of walking and several different bus routes.  luckily, after some research, i found a shuttle service (mears) that picks up at any disney hotel and takes you to universal studios for $19 a person roundtrip.  you just have to make a reservation the night before your visit - we took the 8:10am shuttle and it was about an hour and a half ride door to door in a tour bus, including all the stops

three broomsticks. i was a bit skeptical to eat here because its theme park food which usually isn’t that great but after having the sheppard’s pie and garden salad it changed my mind. it was really good. don’t forget to have it with a butter beer :)

amazing food for an amusement park. the food here is honestly very, very good. it may not be authentic british pub quality, but it is at the very least good local pub quality. i have been known to drop in to universal just for lunch here.

not too shabby!. this was a nice departure from the standard park food you usually find in the middle of a theme park! my husband and i stopped for lunch here both days we were in universal. i had the cornish pasties both times (i couldn't help it). it was nice to have a salad with my meal instead of something fried. my husband had the shepherd's pie one day and the turkey leg the next. he enjoyed both, but was a little disappointed that the skin on the turkey leg was a tad rubbery. the leg certainly had plenty of meat on it though!

love the attention to detail paid throughout the wizarding world of harry potter. the ghost's shadow that randomly appears near the peak of the roof in the restaurant is almost as clever as moaning myrtle's voice in the bathrooms!

my intention was late lunch at three broomsticks no matter what the wait since i have never gone. normally the line is out the door. to my surprise, no wait. just feeling like i was in a story book, i could not make up my mind so ordered a child portion of the fish and chips and the cornish pastries with a small salad. of course, i ordered a butterbeer but forgot to ask for frozen which has a wonderful texture to the taste. butterbeer is like cream soda with something sweet and foam added. fun taste!

no visit to hogsmeade is complete without visiting the local tavern! i had read online that the lines get ridiculously long so when we arrived at 11 am, we went straight to lunch. a lot of other smart travellers did the same (great minds think alike). while we were waiting in line, an elderly couple in front of us told us about the aaa discount which is awesome because my aaa membership has never gotten me discounts before. ambiance they really did strive to make this place look like the movie. it all looked like the real three broomsticks. the line was so efficient, there were 5 cash registers where you ordered and there was a worker who sent people from the line to each cash register. then you go to the corresponding window to pick up your order. turkey leg joe had the turkey leg which he said was juicy and a little hard to chew. i took a bite and it was delicious. it was like mo

great deal on rotisserie chicken. the rotisserie chicken was and entire half of a small full chicken and was cooked nicely with plenty of flavor and not greasy at all. it came with a roasted ear of corn and roasted potatoes, which were both very flavorful. we got there a little after 11 and despite a short line, there was not too much of a wait. (also don't go around 12:15: the line winds out the door and will take you forever.)

good place. we had a free breakfast voucher from our stay at one of the resorts. the breakfast was decent and was enough to fill me for the morning. nothing spectacular. looking at the prices for most of the other things, they are typical cost for tourist trap food at universal so, not bad but more than what you'd pay for the same thing outside the resort. the place itself looks amazing and well worth a walkthrough and pictures. the butterbeer is delicious both in regular and frozen.

hollaback hogsmeade. i wouldn't dream of going anywhere else when visiting the wizarding world of hp, but this fare was actually exceptional. i ordered fish and chips (super fresh, crisp breading and ahhhhhmazing tartar sauce) and my husband got the chicken and ribs platter... fall off the bone and super skillfully smoked. we topped it off with butter beer - regular brew and frozen, it just absolutely exceeded my expectations. the staff was so cheerful and helpful, especially jack who gave us the ultimate heads up on dining times. my mind is blown and my belly is happy.

a must visit for potterphiles!. well to start, the atmosphere is incredible. being a huge hp fan, i was automatically in love with this place. all of the details really pull you into the hp world. the food was very good. i had the cornish pasties with salad and butterbeer to drink. i prefer the cold butterbeer as opposed to the frozen. for me, the frozen loses a little bit of the flavor. my mom had the pumpkin fizz to drink. i sipped that and it was good too. my only complaint about the cornish pasties is that i wanted more of them! they only give you three. my mom had the fish and chips and hubby had the roasted chicken which is beatifully presented with a corn on the cobb with the shuck pealed back. i hope to visit again someday!

the yummy is tasty but not.... the yummy food is tasty but not earth shattering. but let's be honest: are we really here for the food? this replica of the harry potter pub at universal orlando's wizarding world of harry potter comes straight out of the books, and must be included in a day at the islands of adventure. and honestly, you won't be sacrificing a good meal.

wonderful!. i had heard the food was very good, but wasn't sure it would be that great, being it was in the middle of the theme park. i had the fish and chips and was not disappointed. my daughter had difficulty finding something she could eat (she doesn't eat meat usually), but she loved the pumpkin fizz. my whole family of 6 enjoyed the meal, and it was truly in the spirit of harry potter! i hope to go back again someday soon!

in honor of the release of harry potter and the deathly hollows part ii's release, i thought i'd do a write up on my first experience with butterbeer. one of the most exciting parts of visiting universal studios earlier this year was visiting the wizarding world of harry potter. one minute in this new land and we felt like we had left universal studios. every detail was made to feel like a realistic representation of the harry potter franchise. you can read more about the park on my travel blog carlos abroad . we really wanted to try the butterbeer that everyone was raving about. there were stands around the park where you could line-up to buy some, but my friend suggested we visit the three broomsticks restaurant and avoid the lines. this strategy proved successful and within minutes we were ordering food and picking up our butterbeer. there were two kinds of butterbeer and i decided to go with the frozen butterbeer (my theme park guru friend recommended it), in addition to a turkey l
