i received a number of cakes and other treats from this place for special occasions. the red velvet cheesecake was absolutely amazing! the cakes look beautiful and taste amazing! they taste fresh and homemade in the sense that there is attention to detail. i've also had the rainbow cake for my birthday, it wasn't the absolute best rainbow cake i've ever had, but the cake was beautiful and everyone raved about it :)

i love office birthdays! it always means free cake! my colleague bought two cakes from velvet cake co. one being the rainbow cake and the other a carrot cake. both cakes were yummy. the rainbow cake, albeit sweet, was such a moist sponge cake - so so good! the carrot cake was good, but not my favourite, as i prefer traditional carrot cakes laced with spice and nuts.

update: another office birthday and this time we were treated to massive pink velvet cupcakes with the most devilishly delicious cream cheese topping. yaaaaassss!!!!!

we were welcomed by smiles! i love the options of cakes and cupcakes. their cappuccino was nice and creamy served in the most beautiful and colorful cups. the cake was fresh and delightful! i'm going to try more. please come to joburg!

everything my sweet tooth desires. the blue velvet cupcakes are amazing. anytime there's a celebration i recommend this place for treats. also great sizing of the cakes for price value.

i think this cake is most delicious cakes. i tried chocolate cheesecake cake was divine. never tried better cake then the velvet cake. will definitely come back!

yum! we decided to visit the cake shop after (a ton of) recommendations from friends. we tried the red velvet cheesecake and milk tart cupcakes. yum. yum yum. i found the prices reasonable (r50 for both) considering that a single cupcake will easily cost you r25 at a market. the ingredients were fresh and cleaely good quality, and the flavours balanced so well. i noticed the cakes were about 300, which is expensive but considering the quality i also consider the price to be reasonable. i love all the varieties they have and my boyfriend, who ordinarily never eats sweet things, has been raving about the cupcakes all week. i'll be back soon, no doubt about it!
tip: we grabbed cupcakes and ate them on the sea point promenade. was a great date idea.

bought my 21st birthday cake here and was very impressed. i had a pink ombre cake and it was so cute 🍰 the cake was moist and did not dissapoint. it was huge also. will recommend this place to anybody. also, the prices are reasonable for the sizes of the cakes. btw my mom added some of the decorations on her own.

i ordered a cake for one of the little people in our family (she turned 3) and we ordered a pink and white cake with smarties in the center. it was so pretty and she was so happy with her cake.

the cake itself was beautiful! big ups to their decor team. the cake itself was nice, a good vanilla sponge but the frosting was waaaaaay too sweet. i had to scrape the frosting off the sides to really enjoy the cake. the kids loved it though.

i really want to try their other cakes though, i've seen so many good reviews!

the best cupcakes and cakes you'll ever get your hands on in cape town. forget about the others, trust me this is the place! you can't go wrong with their wide variety of sweets available.

i had one of the best slices of cake ever from velvet cake company. the cake itself was so light and moist... i swear it didn't even feel like i was eating sponge.

the icing was delicious and not overly sweet. will definitely be getting some more cake from them.

it definitely has one of the best cakes and cupcakes i have indulged in. not only are the delights beautiful to look at, they taste amazing and are moist and yummy as a cake should be.

it has definitely become my go to cake place.

i was very excited to go to this place and couldn't stop talking about the fact that i want to go, all because of how the people were raving about it on zomato. we believe that it's way overrated.

we went inside and there were two ladies working there. the one busy putting out cakes and the other on her phone. none of them greeted us, until we greeted them. neither of them looked interested in giving us service; and there were not other customers when we walked in.

so we went to choose the cupcakes, and a lady helped us, not friendly at all. (i'm mentioning this as many people were saying how friendly the service is.) as she was putting the cakes in the box, we stood around feeling uncomfortable. she then told us that they didn't have any regular coffee, just decaf. so we decided to go for coffee at another place, which was a let down.

after tasting the cakes, i'm not sure i'll go back. it wasn't bad, but i do believe it is very overrated. the red velvet was half cake, half icing, and very sweet, but i'm sure some people likes that.

the place is decorated very cute inside, but decor can just do that much without friendly service. we are very disappointed. i guess my expectations were too high.

their cupcakes are absolutely moreish and are available in really interesting flavours (sometimes with a surprise centre). prices in store are not cheap, so it pays to buy in bulk on their website. very good customer service when some milk tart cupcakes i bought curdled. store decor is fun and a feast for the eyes.

extremely disappointed. arranged with the owner or manager a week in advanced that i was coming through all the way from hermanus to do cake tasting for my wedding only to arrive and no one having any knowledge of us coming and most of the cakes sold out. we were told a specific cake/cupcake would be kept aside for us which obviously was not. what a disappointment!!!!!

we got the red velvet cupcake with meringue icing which was amazing! and had a hidden bit of cheesecake inside! we also got the sweetie pie cupcake which was nice but has nothing on the other one which was just so good.
