maître d eats my steak. myhusbandand i dined at union hotel in depere for our anniversary. we decided to have the ribeye special with mushrooms on the side. we could hardly cut through our steaks, myhusbandgave up. ribeyes should melt in your mouth and be well marbled but not thick, hard fat with a bite of meat here and there. the waitress told us she would check with the chef and upon returning to our table she offered us filet, we declined with it now being 8:30 pm so the waitress then says i will just charge you for what you ate. when the bill came she charged for the mushrooms that were ordered to eat with the steaks which we did not, they were left on the plate with the steak that had 3 attempted bites from each of the steaks. myhusbandand i finished our bottle of wine and when he went to pay the maître he commented on our disappointment and he replied "your wife's steak was good in the middle, i ate it and it was excellent!". myhusbandcame directly back to the table in such disbelief at the audacity at such a comment. we will not be back.
