greatplaceto go for a few drinks! a bit reserved a first about a the wetherspoons chain of pubs opening here, but when you go to the place, you cannot fault.

excellent choice of difficult types of beers. great deals on the food, however, sometimes the food does taste a bit reheated. but with €2.50 pints, you can't really complain, and they definitely serve up better grub then local pubs in the area.

recommend for cheap eats and drinks.

one if the best places for good pub food and alcohol. they have a great variety of options in terms of food and serve the best burgers and chicken tikka masala. the ambience is amazing and theplacehas a great vibe to it.

always end up coming here even after going to other pube in dublin.
cheap alcohol, good food and really comfortable seating. if you're looking for aplacewith good music, i'd suggest you look for something else. however, if you're looking for aplaceto have a good conversation with your friends it is the bestplaceto be. a little away from the city but very accessible from the bus stop and dart station.
truthfully i know thisplacecause my college was in balckrock and then this became a hang out spot for all of us.

mixed feelings about this place.
drinks: i would rate a 5 due to its price! how can it be so cheap? (compared to dublin prices) it is the perfectplacefor drinks with friends, preferably on mondays because of the pub quiz (awesome!!)
food: oh...they basically heat up the food...nothing is made there so...i would rate a 2.
the service is ok! love the dynamics and events during the week!
so yeah, perfect for cheap drinks and not-that-good-but-quite-tasty food! perfect for big groups of students

great prices but a rubbish vibe. i know it's "against company policy" but really a bit of not too loud music would be great.

the food is reasonably priced but it's not great.

the prices of the booze really make up for all of this places faults however, it's almost half what you'd pay anywhere else.

also, i've never heard anyone call thisplaceanything other then wetherspoons, don't know what they were thinking with the name.

enjoyed a traditional breakfast here for just 4.95 including tea, free-refill-coffee or a soft drink, which is absolutely sensational value. the rumours that wetherspoon's microwave all of their food were absolutely incorrect in this case, as all of the food was clearly freshly prepared. the breakfast consisted of a tasty sausage, piece of lean bacon, nicely-cooked tomato, clonakilty black and white pudding (very good), fried egg, 2 hash browns, beans and a thick fresh piece of soda bread which was very very good in particular. the coffee, self-served from a dispenser at the bar was too watery, a little disappointing as lavazza coffee is normally much better than that, but impossible to complain given the overall price.

my friend had the large traditional breakfast, which had an extra egg, sausage, hash brown and bread, but he couldn't finish it - just as well, given that it is 1,574 calories (all meals have a calorie count on the menu, which is another great touch).

theplaceis stylish and spotless - a little soulless without music or volume on the tv, but it's a greatplaceto go on a weekday for some peace and quiet. ordering at the bar and remembering to note your table number takes a little bit of getting used to, but if it keeps prices down, then it's no problemo!

i have sampled their beers on other occasions, and at 2.50 a pint for a range of craft beers, the value there is stunningly good too.

roll on the opening of some wetherspoons pubs in the city centre - it will shake things up nicely!

literally cannot fault thisplaceapart from the lack of music. theplaceis so cheap, i dont even know how they afford to stay open. i went here with friends and a pint of devils backbone was on promotion for 1.99 which was a nice beer for a third of the price everywhere else in dublin, however its when i looked at the food special that i was really shocked, on the day there was a gourmet beef burger with onion rings and chips all together for 3.99! i just couldn't understand it and left theplacecontinuously questioning this! great spot overall with a nice interior and nice smoko/terrace are! would 100% recommend

my girlfriend and i went here for a drink one evening after work and i was pleasantly surprised. knowing it's owned by wetherspoons in the uk and given it's reputation there, i didn't have great expectations. however, i couldn't have been more wrong. true to the wetherspoons style, drink was very cheap compared to it's competitors around dublin. i had a pint of heineken which cost me a total of a whopping €2.95 and my girlfriend had a glass of pinot grigio(which was poured from a tap may i add - different) which was €3.95. so the cost for two was €6.90 which is unheard of in dublin. cheap as chips! interior is lovely as well. it's so big, plenty of seating available and very comfortable which i liked. we didn't have food but we did get a look at the menu. lot's of options and again so cheap..meal plus a drink is less than €10. amazing! we'll definitely be back to try out the food and have a few more drinks. perfectplacefor pre drinks before going into the city and also good for large groups because of it's size.
