soooo tasty!. we chose to stop here on our way through salt lake because we saw that they served four barrel coffee. and boy did we choose right, they serve espresso just like it's supposed to be - fresh roasted, strong, and rich! we'll be stopping here again for sure on our route back to phoenix.

tea and most pleasant ambiance in city. wide choice of unusual loose teas -- properly brewed in individual pots. airy interior which has probably the most pleasant ambiance of any coffeehouse in the city.
coffee census fall 2012: good french press, nice small toasted brioche slice $3.51. real china. newspapers and magazines.

the rose establishment is one of my favorite places to get macarons. the only catch is that they're so sought after that most of the time they run out before i arrive.

this is a really nice place to get a coffee (black, iced). the environment is very chill, very relaxed. the staff is very friendly.

the macaroon feels like biting into coconut bliss. wow. i finished it before i realized that it would probably go really well with my coffee. guess that's what seconds are for, eh?

if you, like me, are addicted to macarons and coffee, stop by the rose establishment some time. i regret arriving without an empty belly to try the menu items, but c'est la vie (oohhh, i never thought i'd get the chance to say that one *checks bucket list*).

disappointed. went on a sunday morning and there was one person in front of us. i ordered a cinnamon chai and my wife ordered a soy chai, both to go. we also ordered a pastry. we waited about 20 minutes before asking if our drinks would be ready soon, and they said they had forgotten about one of them. the other was sitting there cooling off. after another 10 minutes they gave us the drinks in cups and saucers. we reminded them that we had ordered to go. they poured the drinks directly into to-go cups and the liquid came up about halfway. coupled with my dry muffin, i found the experience quite disappointing for $16.

oh, and the only menus available are hanging from the counter. you have to be actively looking for them to find them.

we wanted to like it but were unimpressed. maybe it was a bad day?

great light from the windows overlooking the street, with high ceilings giving this an airy feel. housed in a former meatpacking plant, the place is both old-timey and up-to-date, very comfortable place to get breakfast. amazing coffees and, if they have them, super tasty personal sized quiches are available.

a wonderful space. the rose has a wonderful space. it's big with a high ceiling, many windows, and four large sky lights. but at the same time there is a bit of separation between the different areas of the coffee shop which gives it an intimate feeling.

this week, i've had two of their scones with lemon icing. i feel a new addiction forming. the coffee is up to snuff. the one sandwich we sampled was tasty but small for the price paid.

lovely place for a chat. went to another new coffee place on sunday. i recall when this building used to house "big city soup" a number of years ago.

gorgeous building with a historic flair, subway tiles, open and spacious. the very nice server at the counter told us they had spent a couple of years renovating this place prior to opening about 1 1/2 years ago. very charming and a great place to meet up with a friend.

i had a great cup of french press coffee (one type of bean, no blend of ruwanda) and i also had their veggie sandwich which was yummy. a huge selection of teas for the tea drinker. would definitely recommend to others and plan to come back.

great coffee for someone who doesn't like coffee.. i'm not much of a cofffee drinker, but i have to say that the mocha at the rose is amazing. throw in a peanut butter cookie, and you better believe that i'm gonna keep coming back for more!

after hearing great things from my coffee-snob friends (including my husband), i ventured over to the newest coffee shop in salt lake, the rose establishment. coffee connoisseurs will agree that salt lake has less than a handful of places to get a great c
