been here 3 times so far & love it every time! food is excellent, service is fair. only had one questionable service experience but made up for it with free appetizers. love the mac & cheese, steak is melt in your mouth delicious & the scotch eggs hit home for me. love the environment & will definitely be returning soon!

they have the best burgers in saskatoon, and cheap at $11.00. i never finish the whole plate with fries. half pound charbroiled burger, fresh bun, fresh crisp lettuce, onion and tomato, with a nice house made sauce. cheap and delicious. i love a beautiful burger, trust me i know burgers, and this is the best in the city. i have had it 4 times, never disappointed. they pour a nice draft guiness, and make a tasty caesar too. fish and chips are gorgeous also!

we usually go to the rook for lunch but popped in for dinner instead last night. the norway lobster and calamari appy was good, maybe just a bit salty, but tasty. the bison short ribs were very good, leaner than beef ribs so it didn't seem like such a heavy plate going down. the pork belly was the hit of the night though - cooked perfectly and delectable with the saskatoon jam. we didn't really have room for dessert, but what the hell, we asked anyway - rice pudding with caramel sauce and smoky bacon. it was awesome! once we hit the gym and have time to work this one off we will be coming back for dinner again, and again.

almost always a quality, tasty meal and a pint. more importantly - the single time it was not great they took ownership of the issue immediately and solved it right away. quality place.

better than expected. my husband and his family went to rook & raven for a birthday dinner. we went during the the holidays and were almost sick of holiday over eating - but this was a great change up. my husband and sister in law both ordered the pork belly, my father in law had the prime rib poutine, my mother in law had the fish & chips, and i had the grilled steak and blue cheese salad. the salad was very good, with a lot of veggies and a good amount of steak. the steak was cooked well, but i would have preferred the steak to be better seasoned. the poutine definitely came with a lot of meat and was a meal in itself! i also tried the pork belly, which i thought was the best meal of the bunch. a crispy layer of cracklings with a saskatoon berry compote really compliment the plate. the combination of the salty pork belly and the sweet berries was perfection! if i go back i would most definitely order the pork belly. the drinks were a bit on the expensive side (cocktails) and were just ok. nothing to write home about. the only negative was that they were sold out of their lamb dinner special by 6:30pm on a saturday, which to me just equals poor planning/food ordering. we were all happy with our meals and i would likely go back to rook & raven in the future. while it does feel a bit informal, the food was worth it!

great food, nice service. just went here for the first time today and tried the pulled pork sandwich. literally the best pulled pork sandwich i've ever had! the service was good, and the atmosphere was wonderful. definitely coming back here!

one of my favorite places! the staff is always astounding (and cute) and the food never, ever disappoints!
they also have the second best mac 'n cheese on the planet!

very poor dinner. we just had dinner at the rook and raven and were very disappointed with my meal. i had the special quail and the sweet potatoes and turnips were not cooked. when i brought it to the attention of the server she offered me some other vegetables, but that is why i had order the meal in the first place was because of the sweet potatoes. she gave me 1.20 off the meal which isn't even 5 percent. i was very disappointed as this has been our go to restaurant for the pass 2 years. we had been going every friday and saturday. time to fine a new place to eat!

good to very good. a friend introduced me to the rook for lunch and i was impressed. a lot of unique menu choices and quality is more than "pub food". service has also been consistently good and overall atmosphere is very comfortable. a definite repeat spot.

had their aaa steak and it was cooked to perfection. they have a great cocktail menu and awesome atmosphere! will definitely be going back.

this is a great place for casual dining! the food is consistently fantastic, the cocktails are decent enough (especially for a pub) and they have a great beer and scotch selection. if i am having a bad day, their mac and cheese will make me forget all my troubles. i also love the smoked chicken wings, beet salad and the chicken club.

i miss the duck, but this is better. i'm consistently blown away by the food here. the wednesday night steak special has changed my life for the better.

my new favourite. this place has a great atmosphere, combined with nice staff, and fabulous food. we went for dinner and ordered appetizers to share. all i can say is - get the risotto balls! everything we ordered was amazing - you can tell it is made by someone who cares about food. the winter ale was also tasty (and served in a clean glass!). can't say enough good about this place.wish there was more in saskatoon like it.

very good pub food. based on a great urbanspoon rating, we decided to give the rook and raven a try tonight. weren't disappointed at all.
greeted promptly, there was a bit of a wait as it was friday night, but the hostess did free up a table for us quickly.
waitress was busy but got to us within a few minutes and greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome.
decor is nice... pub standard, comfy and relaxed.
we shared the apple, goat cheese, fig and pecan salad. it was well presented and quite tasty, but we thought just a bit dry and light on the balsamic dressing. big bowl and lots of it. i had the bison short ribs and my wife had the hummus curry, a lacto ovo vegetarian option that she rates an 8/10. the bison was full of flavour, even the potatoes were really tasty... some of the bison was very tender and juicy but other parts were a bit tougher. still would order it again.

all in all we'll be back, and will recommend the rook to friends.
