on entering the riding house cafe, we are struck by how ‘trendy’ the decor is – all chunky, worn-in table tops, bright leather clad seats and stuffed squirrel wall sconces. we are seated in a spacious booth, which makes a nice change from the enforced clamour consistent with the recent wave of tiny restaurants.

the cheeseburger is topped with a magnificent smoked cheese which dominates the ensemble - beautiful light touch smoke that's making my mouth water just to think of it.

went here for quick breakfast and was surprised with the overflowing crowd. the staffs were friendly and orders were quickly served. loved my red juice and the recommended eggs benedict. a great place for breakfast and brunch!

hang your coats up and find a seat. nestle cosily on a scruffy sofa, take a chair at the bar or find a space on the long dramatic table. there’s something for everyone here; whether you’re on a date, with a partner, a friend or meeting mates.

one of the bucket-list dishes for my trip to the uk was the classic beef wellington, something that i’ve wanted to eat ever since i first came across its existence amongst gordon ramsey’s many recipes. the idea of a beautifully tender fillet of beef encased in a mushroom paste and flaky puff pastry evoked such a feeling of extreme comfort and decadence that i knew i had to try it for myself. my research yielded a handful of potential restaurants, from the very expensive to the somewhat dodgy, so k and i finally settled on the riding house café, a nice restaurant/café that fell somewhere in the middle of the pack.

the menu is divided into a selection of smaller plates, for sharing and mains. with nine of us, i'm pretty sure we tried the whole menu collectively, but here is what i remember eating:

but all said and done, this place will no doubt draw in the crowds. it has great appeal. but i’m only going to give riding house café a 3/5 for food. harsh i know – it could have, should have been more – but chef, you really need to taste your food.

i went here for a birthday evening meal and it was excellent. an interesting menu and absolutely delicious food. i really recommend the chataeubriand to share, the meat is really good quality and wonderful sides to accompany. there was a great atmosphere, nice lighting and a buzzy bar area which all added to the experience. i've heard great things about the brunch and breakfast as well so will definitely be trying that out soon!

beautiful place to have a quick breakfast. good coffee and great milkshakes and a delicious food. i had their eggs with fata cheese and french toast which both were really good served fast with no delay and the stuff were super friendly

delicious breakfast here! definitely try the brioche toast or shakshuka. love the atmosphere and service too! highly recommend visiting as you won’t be disappointed :)

i have been wanting to visit this place for breakfast for a while, and i finally had a chance to today. in terms of setting, the place is very welcoming and comfortable. i love that the menu has much to offer. after much thought we ended up ordering the brioche french toast and avocado benedict. food came quickly, but it was nothing special. while i enjoyed the french toast, the avocado benedict was not to my liking. the bun was hard- it did not appear to be fresh. i would probably be back just for the lovely interior. plus it is one of the few places that serve breakfast until noon (god knows we need more of those).

very busy when we walked in at around 11am. we hadn't made a booking. they had a table outside for us which was nice enough. had the pancakes and the avo on toast. food was served warm and tasted good but i am sure it's a better experience if you are seated inside.

excellent place with excellent food and drinks served at the best quality and prices with the help of a really nice and friendly staff not to mention the highly prompt and punctual service as well.

a go to place to have one of the best coffee and drinks at the best prices, friendly and professional staff and punctual and prompt service. hygienic conditions are always up to standards too. highly recommended.
