such a shame!. beautifully decorated, great ambiance, food presented nicely but shame the service doesn't quite match. young and inexperienced staff spoilt it for me and then the lentil and vegetable soup which sounded just the thing for a bleak day was the most disappointment. instead of something hot , steamy and what would taste like a vegetable soup was so sweet and sickly!! when i asked if this soup was meant to be sweet, the staff could not give a straight answer....no apology was given, however i was able to change it to something else. afraid that's done it for me. ......eva

decor: bit dated with the decor as i wasnt to sure what the theme was and the entry is a bit confusing. wasnt sure which one was the main one . the one to the side by the food display or the one by the front of the premises. the door to the side of the food display is way to small for even the smallest person. on the food display there was too much stuff where i couldnt get eye level access to see the staff member or to greet them. the area to order was crowded with stuff and too small. theres too much going on inside that it feels cluttered and kinda colostryphobic as i wouldnt want to get up too fast as something might fall down.

staff: staff were friendly and polite. reas my order back to me as i finished ordering and brought out drinks first before our main which was perfect.

food: food was yummy. i had the corn fritter stack which was good. nice amount of everything. my sister had the beef burger which she said was amazing. my brother had the big breakfast and said it was good but nothing to rave about . it was too small to be called a big breakfast. sausages could have been bigger. he tasted my sister burger and he wished he got that. for people with larger appetites the burgers are the go to's. chips that come with it were very tasty and the newpaper/paper it comes in was a nice touch. soy hot choc was so chocolaty and hot which is my fave. frappes needed more ice though.

nice place but decore lets it down. would love to come back for sunday breaky with my family but dont think its suited for big groups 6+.

i was glad to see the re-opened of this cafe so arranged the time to have brekkie here. when i approached the counter, i noticed that it serves iced vietnamese coffee so gave it a go instead of my usual merlo flat white. also, i changed to have the creamy chicken & avocado filo instead of the usual brekkie wrap.
well, the changes proved to be right after the first sip of the coffee. it was so refreshing and strong in strength. the filo did not let me down too. the fillings of chicken and avocado were very creamy.
this brekkie made my day.

loved this place. the cooking reminded me of nanas. i ordered the avocado on rye with goats cheese and added bacon. service was quick and friendly. the portion was big 3 slices of rye bread. my daughter had the devilled mushrooms but believed you definitely need to add the sausage for extra flavour. it was delicious. her iced mocha she said was good. i had the pineapple and mint frappe. i would suggest to save it for summer.

visited before  great !!!today -----well words fail me  waited over 30mins for coffee my husband served his  almost immedialty  with  food   when complained was told so sorry  this continued for 3 times    don't think i will be back waste of $22   plus cold coffee

today, 08 november 2017,  my friend and i went to the café about 2.20pm.  we ordered some coffee. the café supposed to be opened to 4.00 pm as advertised on the webpage.

about 2.30 the staff started to clean inside. we sat outside.  at 3.00 pm a waitress came to our table and without a word took away my unfinished coffee. i was left speechless.  they then started to clean outside with a noisy clanking of tables and metal chairs. at 3.40 pm they told us to leave. i said that i just checked on the internet that they are opened to 4.00 pm, to which the waitress replied…”this is my private business and i can do what i want”.  and we were asked to leave.  i told her that i will make sure that the situation will be mentioned in social media.

about 5.00 pm,  i saw on their facebook logging an entry from the owner that read … “sometimes we close earlier and that due to the stormy weather we closed earlier today to take the safety of the staff as a paramount to reach home before the storm”…   hahahaha i was there and the storm was nowhere close as we sat outside.  this was just a copout to pre-empt any of my comments.  great place great personnel. i’ll never go there again as i can’t recall being treated that way as a consumer.  just to add, some time ago my friends and i went to the café about  2.30 pm and we were told that the coffee machine is already cleaned and that they will not make coffee so we left.

delicious! we went on a wednesday morning wasn't overly busy. food was very nice and fast and lovely service. we will return for lunch for sure! sorry it's taken so many years to visit!

i really enjoy coming here for the homey atmosphere. even though it's not really my type of food that i eat regularly. it's just so pretty and homey. as soon as you enter the front fridge of food and decorations everywhere takes you in.

the food itself is pretty nice too. i had their iced tea and deviled mushrooms with a side of spinach. very filling cause of the cream but pretty yummy... the bread is slathered with butter and the mushrooms sitting in a bowl of garlicky creamy sauce. just a bit exxy and large considering it's a little rich for me personally and hard to finish.

they also sell sweets around the place as well as jams and preserves.

recommend this place if you're in the area. there are high chairs and toilet inside with toys and games. the inside is not good for little kids though as there's breakable jars and packaged sweets within reach. perhaps outdoor seating would better suit. it's quite nice out there too!

visited this cafe for breakfast. nice environment. the food was nice too. nothing special though. a reasonable price. we also liked the coffee.

shameful! 

this is the only word i can use to describe the level of customer service. as our local coffee shop was closed for renovations i suggested to a colleague that we try ‘the pantry hq’. we walked up to the counter and experienced two staff members engaged in conversation. did they acknowledge the customers waiting to order? no! when we interrupted them to ask if there was table service (don’t be silly) the young girl walked into the back to have a laugh with the kitchen staff while the barista turned his back to continue making coffee. finally, when good and ready, he took out order. hoping the coffee would be something special to make some amends for the lack of service i was extremely disappointed, the local mcdonalds makes a far better cup of coffee.

my colleague wrote a kinder but a 1 star review, the response from the management was to declare they have hundreds of 5 star reviews (must be drinking more than coffee in the kitchen) and advised him that he was no longer welcome. what on earth made them think he or i would be return costumers?

found this place on a whim. great service and great tasting food. will definitely be back. would highly recommend to anyone looking to try it. thanks

love the beautiful decor in the cafe with house made jams and caddies. food was delicious and fresh. the mango milkshake was so creamy and flavorsome i had to order it again the very next day when i dragged my husband there to have a try.

we've been to the pantry hq a few times now and each time has been wonderful. the food is delicious and they have pretty good prices on the menu and display area. there is also a large selection of candy, cookies and jams for something to take with you afterwards.

the seating inside is better on the hot days but they have so much seating outside and it's lovely on cooler days. there's also plenty of parking and the service is friendly and super quick with the food.

actually visited this restaurant a year or so ago with a coupon. it must have changed owners because they serve byron bay coffee now & i think previously it was  di bella. inside it has the same homely feel about it with all the flowers & quirky wall hangings,  bric a brac etc. definitely different staff & the menu was different too. only called in for a coffee as i remember it was a good cup the last time i visited. this time around it was lacking strength & body with not much crema. maybe i should have had the extra shot but thought 90 cents was a tad over the top! the sweets looked very tempting especially those strawberry tarts

oh dear when you read some of the revues you would probably give the pantry a miss such a shame as i have found it really nice on all occasions i have been and have taken many people there. yes sometimes the service is a little slow the coffee is good if you want it really hot just ask i do and only on one occasion i have sent it back. the presentation is good and yes there are young staff but i haven't found them unfriendly. my only thing i would say that sometimes the food presentation in the cabinet doesn't look the greatest and a bit more variety in desert department would be good. i am going with some friends for dinner next week so will report then as it will be the first time i have been there at night. keep going pantry we really need you in springwood which is devoid of places and clubs to go have a coffee. dc rochedale
