if you’re unfamiliar with it,bbqslaw is a vinegar-based slaw that’s more tart than the typical mayo-based slaw. it’s also usually a darker red color.

good portions good food. we got the chopped and coarse choppedbbqplate that came with slaw, fries and hush puppies and let me tell you, they don't skimp on the portions!

the choppedbbqcomes with a nice mixture of outside brown (w/o asking). the coarse chopped (nugget sized bites) has a smokier flavor due to the attached crust and collects a flavorful juice broth at the bottom of the plate that is a dipping must!

the fries are nothing special but the slaw is great for those who do not like heavy mayo based cole slaw and the hush puppies come out fresh with a good onion flavor.

another one down the historicbbqtrail!

my favorite. i love q of all kinds across the us. i've tried to make it to as many of the ncbbqtour restaurants and others as i can - maybe 10 - 15 so far, centered around greensboro. little richards in w-s is my current favorite.

the smoke taste is there yet still subtle, the q is soft and tender in chunks as i prefer it, and the portions are very generous. the red slaw compliments nicely, the pups are good, but the previously frozen crinkle fries - fair at best.

excellent. there is a lot of good 'cue in this area, so it is difficult to call one better than another. was in the area and went to lexingtonbbqone day and little richard's the next, and i think little richard's was better, although you can't go wrong with either place.

i felt like you got a larger portion for a little less money at richard's, and both had a different yet distinctive flavor. i liked little richard's sauce a tad better, but preferred lexington's slaw a little more.

as far as the hush puppies, both were great. so for me it would be more of a geographical area as to which place i would return to when in the area. little richard's was much closer which gives it an advantage.

little richard's has a lexington feel but right in winston-salem. great, great stuff, and they are exceptionally quick to serve for those times when you are in a hurry. slow cooked fast food i guess.

lots of good eats here. i like the lexington stylebbqthis little place produces, and though the sauce is a little more vinegary than most in the piedmont, it does contain ketchup and that's lexington. the meat is not chopped too finely, and has some brown bits in it, and is a little moist coming out of the kitchen - i never feel the need to add any more sauce to it.

thebbqchicken served friday & saturday is very, very good. the slaw is a white slaw, and goes well with the pork. the fries are only so-so, the hush puppies very good, and the brunswick stew is ok. they make a very good hamburger, it used to be even better before they changed the bun, too much bread now. and finally they make a very good hot dog.

the place is small, crowded at peak, with some outside seating. no credit cards, so cash is needed. this place has no current connection with the little richard's in clemmons, though they do have another place in wallburg
