terrible food and service. there r still some empty tables, but we had waited for 30 mins for our food to come. we had the daily special and an italian noodle they both are horrible. and then we called waiters for bills, no one answered us and they r inpatient. never gonna go there again!!!

ahh the naaaaammmmm maaaaaannnn. always was a place that was good to go in not much of a hurry, lousy service but great food, not lousy service as in the get it wrong it was always right and good, just slow and crazy, part of the experience, good date place. seems they tried to update and lost the point. i'll still go though...

the atmosphere of this restaurant screams laid back. from the interior to the servers, this is a great place to ‘chill out’. everything inside the restaurant is natural; there are wooden chairs, tables, and floors.

no large line up, but still had to wait for 40 mins for food to reach our table. burger was tasteless, enchilada was decent. salads accompanying dishes were terrible, soggy tomatos! this place seems to have a cult like status which blinds it's acolytes to the poor, overpriced food!

greetings from seoul! i have not updated this food blog for a long time because i was at vancouver for only 5 days after my 10 days trip to la before i left for korea. i am actually here for a 5 days vacation but i extended to 2 weeks and am contemplating of extending it to a month to do something productive like volunteering and taking korean classes. so anyway, this entry is long overdue. today, i will be writing about my experience at naam that fine and i went to at the end of october last year. initially, we wanted to go to cafe regalade or oakwood canadian bistro but we did not realize that they are only open for brunch on weekends and we went there on friday so it was closed. since fine was there earlier, she decided to look around the vicinity and came across naam. this was how we decided to dine at naam… the naam restaurant 2724 west 4th avenue vancouver, bc v6k 1r1 (604) 738-7151 view larger map once you ente

what?. saw reviews so eager to try. only one way to describe what i ate/ was looking at and its mess. i hate thai food that is thrown on a plate like the end of the night scrapings from a commercial kitchen floor, and i eat thai a lot thanks to celiac. this was rather crap. cant judge most of the food/ taste as cannot eat but... for the money very poor.

mixed feelings but love the dragon bowls. i have mixed feelings about the naam. the food was great circa 2001-ish. i loved almost everything but the most memorable dishes are the dragon bowls. i have since moved away, so whenever i visit van i go for the bowl. the service seems to have declined so i usually get my treats to go. maybe the food tastes better because of the awesomeness that it once was? either way, the dragonbowl remains awesome. for that, it gets my thumbs up!

the naam is a vancouver vegetarian institution but, admittedly, has never been a favourite of mine. notoriously slow service withstanding, i’ve found the food unremarkable at best. breakfast, i’m pleased to say, fared a bit better. i banished my early morning fog with an almond-milk latte to start and ordered the $5.95 weekday super special (vegan-style for an extra $1.95): two whole wheat pancakes with real maple syrup, two vegan sausages, scrambled tofu, and a few bites of fresh fruit.

vancouver’s most well known veg restaurant, the naam, reminds me of a vegetarian denny’s. it’s a favourite spot for a late night snack and is one of the first places offering the soy-free, dairy-free daiya cheese.

my wife and i had a fabulous lunch here.lentil soup was flavorful with a nicespice kick to it...the salad was fresh lettuce tomatoes shredded carots alphalpha sprouts with a great house dressing...filling lunch for two under $20...apparently the place is always busy but we got an outdoor table right away...we usually don't eat at vegetarian diners but this meal was excellent

has seen better days. the naam has been my go-to vegetarian place for many years but the last two have been less than stellar. as the previous reviewer mentioned, although the service is better then food taste and quality has taken a drastic inverted direction. when you walk in it doesn't even have that cool 70s hipster vibe anymore.

i'll always be loyal to this restaurant in hopes they will regain their position as the number one veg restaurant but for now they will have to step up their game if they are to compete. but for awhile i will be visiting many of the other restaurants in vancouver which offer a full or partial vegetarian/vegan menu with higher ratings on this website.

tastless, oily, tofu goo. bad service, bad bad food. our server had a very poor attitude and plopped down two oily piles of tasteless goo.

this was more a right of passage than a culinary experience.
