one satisfied customer. i stopped in on a weekday afternoon and ordered the gold dragon bowl. the miso gravy was delicious and the portions were huge. i probably took 2/3 of it with me home. the staff were friendly and attentive. the menu is extensive and the prices were reasonable. this is probably the only (or one of the very few) 24 hour restaurants in kits.

i did call one once regarding ordering takeout, but they won't accept a takeout order if the restaurant is especially busy (i think it was a weekend evening)

amazing! one of my all time faves. any review that says anything negative about the naam: ignore. the naam has a massive menu: anyone you go with will be able to find what their craving. theyre great for dietary restriction, open 24 hrs (healthy food when your drunk at 3am? who would have known) and they have a cute little patio too in the summer. the vibe is super chill, very vancouver. i saw a comment saying the naam is bland.. thats bs. ive brought so many carnivores there and even they liked the food. i just wish the naam delivered!!!

attentive. i asked for their best dishes and was recommended the dragon bowl. i mentioned that i was gf/df at the moment but wanted the mexi dragon bowl so the server made sure the cheese was df. the miso gravy on the bowl surely made the entire dish. i'll be heading back to buy a bottle to put over my steamed veggies.

for my sweet tooth, another server pointed out the few gf desserts they offered but because i'm df she highly insisted on the noh pie that is gf/df with no added sugar. she was super excited for me to experience it. but the noh pie was a little too moist, soggy and sweet (from the dates) for my liking. the only thing that saved it was the soy ice cream scoops that i ordered with it. losing my noh pie virginity was disappointing but rarely are we satisfied the first time, amirite?

why?. i realize vancouver has a dearth of vegetarian and/or vegan restaurants, but why subject yourself to the naam?

pros:
it's ....unique...and you can grab a late night bite

cons:
disgusting food. vegetarian does not have to mean bland.
uninterested servers who think it is an insult to their dignity to be a waiter

big-ass portions. open all night.. if you're a vampire/night-owl/creature of the night like me but don't want to become a blimp/sumo/land whale, come here for good vegetarian food that will get you full

...split the tuscan nachos, which consist of cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, jalapeños, and red onions. these were perhaps the cheesiest nachos i’ve ever had! these nachos came in quite a big serving, and were densely packed. they were great for splitting, unlike some nacho counterparts in other restaurants which seem to be designed for people on hunger strikes.

haven for healthy eats, too bad for the service. service is basically nonexistent at this place. always a lineup. the only redeeming quality: food is decent, a myriad of options of the menu, and most importantly is that it's healthy. tons of vegan-friendly options here. plus, i'm a sucker for the modest, homey, diner atmosphere. frankly though, i find that its pedigree precedes it.

i love this place!
try a naam poutine!
naam fries, miso gravy, and whatever cheese you choose.
you won't be disappointed.
have definitely been here many times, and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
good earthly food.

i have to start by saying that i am not a vegetarian but i love this restarant. i have never been disappointed and always save room for dessert. specifically i often have an enchilada or a burger. the portions are generous and i have often ordered dessert to go. the service can be hit or miss but there are several wonderful servers there.

cozy, but not the best. this place is definitely very homely. if you want to come and hang out and chat without being too worried about the food or service this place is alright.

the service is for sure "casual".

the food is ok. i'm sure its very healthy, and well-prepared, but to some it may come across as bland.

it kind of gives a bad impression of vegetarianism. some of the sprouts, shredded beets and carrots just taste almost like dirt. mind you it is natural healthy food, but sometimes you just want the flavours.

i've ordered a few things, i really like the tuscan nachos, lots of cheese and the sun-dried tomatoes are a good addition.

also the teriyaki bowl was ok, pretty standard but again, also sort of bland.

we come here when we work in the area for a coffee and a casual lunch, but for the "bang for your buck" factor we will probably start looking at other options along 4th and broadway.

sorry, but miso 'gravy' poutine just doesn't work. there are far better tasting solutions for a veg poutine.

the naam is a vancouver tradition and has been around for 30+ years and it’s open 24/7/364.  it’s always open!  when i’m in vancouver i always have to stop in for at the very least the sesame fries it’s to die for! they also have some great bowls etc. it must be noted that some very interesting characters can be found there in the wee hours of the morning, from club goers to intellectuals, to many a night owl. although not everything is vegan but it is entirely vegetarian. they will do their best to make some modifications to ensure a great vegan feast. when you stop by tell them vegans by choice sent you.   spicy vegan szechuan style eggplant 2014/02/03   print spicy vegan szechuan style eggplant author:  vegans by choice kitchen cuisine:  chinese prep time:  10 mins cook time:  10 mins total time:  20 mins serves:  4   a great asian inspired dish that goes excellent over rice or noodles ingredients 1 lb

beware. no wonder there's only one naam and third time (there)'s not necessarily a charm. beware of short thin female server with long dark hair who is more friendly with customers at other tables. also, one hopes one's call is not answered by a guy with gravelly voice and who's very in touched with his feminine side, because he's only hired to say that he is not in position to say or do anything, except to give a person the number to head office, and he doesn't know why one doesn't comprehend that.

it is what it is. the naam is what it is. accept that then weigh your options. some people don't mind, and some people do. some of the food is tasty as hell, some of it is gross. these recipes are probably the same ones they have been serving since the 70's, so some outdated vegetarian and macrobiotic cooking combinations of ingredients and methodology will feature themselves here. most people who come here order their same favorites again and again, if it's a first time ask a server and they will tell you what not to order. golden dragon bowl and tempeh ruben never disappoint as they are deeelicious. mama naam tea is also delicious. shatke cake, omnom. always a decent beer on tap. its busy as hell most of the time, so service might not be the most attentive. the kitchen is apparently really tiny, and they pump put a ton of food from it, 24hrs a day. so the service staff is not overly bubbly and friendly?oh well. try to go during non peak hours and get the golden dragon bowl and a crannog backhand of god if its on tap. yum yum.

ok to good. i like that this is open 24 hours! alao really enjoy the salad.. not usually a salad girl but i think its awesome! the dressing is amazing and really like how they put beets in it you dont find that often in the "house" salad

dont really like the naam fries that much... everyone raves about them and the miso "gravy" i find them boring and the miso gravy is just kind of like a thick salad dressing vinegary.. maybe i just like more grease with my diners
had a couple different kinds of veggie burgers here before theyre ok to pretty good but ive def had better... do appreciate that they are homemade

had a couple of the burrito wraps before.. ok but some sort of spice or something seems to be missing with the chili

had the chapati with veggie butter pretty good for being a bread w butterbut its not really a meal...

had the thai curry here didnt like it... i am pretty much a vegetarian although do enjoy my poutine and meat broths.. in case u were thinking i gave a mediocre review cus im non veg

would go back to the restaurant but def not often maybe once every couple of years...
