the london tea room

a friend of mine recommended this place back when it was still downtown. i like the new location, feels very cozy, and the tea selection did not disappoint.

this is my favorite tea room based on food & tea. atmosphere is not as elegant as other tea rooms much more casual. i am partial to the coconut oolong, strong but perfectly sweet coconut flavor. their sandwiches are nice and moist(most places their tea sandwiches tend to be dry). cute place for a casual afternoon tea. you have to call in advance & they have diet restriction alternatives for the items served as well. it's $29 per person.

one of the last things i had expected to have in st. louis was high tea, but thankfully, my friend suggested that we go to the london tea room to celebrate her birthday! this cute establishment was started up by two british ladies, and it’s the perfect place to stop by for just a pot of high quality tea in the cafe or an afternoon outing for high tea in a casual setting.

when the tiered plates of sandwiches and pastries were brought out, my eyes were immediately drawn to the colorful top tier of sweets. they looked so delicate i didn’t even know which one to begin with! each perfect pastry complemented my earl grey tea, but if i go again, i would be a bit more adventurous and go for the famous naughty vicar black tea.

the london tea room is amazing! i hosted a bridal tea for 14, and the owners and staff did a terrific job. it was perfect in every way down to the very last detail. if you have to plan a party from another city (like i did), you can trust the london tea room to take great care you. i showed up to find the room set-up beautifully. the flowers and table setting were above expectations! the food is both abundant and delicious. the tea selection is incredible. i highly recommend the london tea room for any special occasion.

great place for a pot of tea!. i love tea, and i loved this place. bring good company, enjoy a pot of tea. best bet it to either get one each, or plan to order more, because they are little(ish). but they also only cost about 5$ too... we had a cookie with our tea, it was decent. but lets be real, it's all about the tea!

unpretentious and charming, this is what all american tea rooms should be.

had the best jasmine tea ever here along with some great scones (blueberry & black current). laid back atmosphere coupled with a wide selection of teas leads to a washington street winner!

amazing selection of tea. i love tea. when the st. louis tea room shut down, i was afraid i had lost my connection to a relaxing tea house in st. louis. fortunately, i have since discovered the london tea room. the food is good, the tea selection is unique and broad and the atmosphere is fun and modern. if you are looking for a traditional tea house with lace table clothes and dainty tea cups, this is not quite that. this is more of a modern take on a tea room. still relaxing and fun though.

adore this place!. i will come here every time i visit st. louis! simply the best tea you can find, the strawberry salad is orgasmic! the sandwiches are alright but not the best item you can get but good quality food. scones with devonshire cream wow!
service was good, thankfully i did not irritate the staff with my giddiness or silly questions and was guided very well on my tea selections to bring home as well as proper brewing methods. i learned a lot, ate a lot, had a great time!

loved this place!. i loved this place and would definitely be a regular if i lived in st. louis! decor is a bit hip with lots of london themed decorations, i went on a saturday afternoon and it was also kind of quiet.

for $13, i got a pot of tea for one, a (pretty big) half sandwich which came with a small, garnish-like side salad, and a slice of their blueberry lemon cake. the tea was great, the perfect temperature and the little pot had just under three small cups of tea in it. the sandwich (croque monsieur) was good but not outstandingly so. for a half, it was pretty big and surprisingly filling. the cake however was amazing! i usually like my cakes a little bit more moist, but this cake had amazing blueberry and lemon flavor and was sweet but not too sweet.

the pastry case was very, very tempting; they had huge slices of quiche, a variety of scones, gooey butter cake, pecan coffee cake, muffins, cookies, victoria sandwich cake, etc. i think this would be a great place to grab a pot of tea (they have a huge selection) and a nice pastry.

the english owner was a very nice lady, super helpful and welcoming!

exceptional tea selection! our group had the scones with devonshire cream (very authentic), and sandwiches too (simple, and very fresh and high quality ingredients). i would definitely drive out my way to come back here again!

delightful !. what a delightful spot for lunch or a pot of tea and a pastry. the staff is very helpful in giving advise about choosing a tea you may like. the lemon blueberry cake is outstanding! it is a breath of fresh air in downtown!

i could stay here all day.... ... and have! great atmosphere, amazing tea selection, yummy goodies. my only complaint? it's not closer to my house!!!
