afternoon tea is one of my favourite things and i almost always always have to have it, every city i visit!! toronto to bangkok, i make sure i hunt down the best in the city. i swear, i literally sit there and google for hours aboutafternoontea in the city. i already love tea as it is, i steep one every morning, so a few hours out of theafternoonfor some tea and food is perfect.

i visited the lobby lounge at the fairmont pacific rim again shortly after my previousafternoontea experience. this time i came for the carvery luncheon with my socialshopper voucher offering a set meal for 2 people at the low price of $19.50, which is essentially a buy-one-get-one deal. i browsed through the drink menu, looking for a non-alcoholic drink, and came across several options that seemed interesting.

my friend and i decided to doafternoontea as a celebration. we decided to give theafternoontea at the fairmont pacific rim a visit, as the asian inspired items intrigued us. the tea menu came with a box of tea leaves which you could sniff, which makes the process of choosing tea a lot more simpler. my friend and i always choose one tea each and share both of them. at first we choose the mad hatter’s tea and the mountain berry tea however, they were out of the man hatter’s tea unfortunately. there were not as many choices as we would have liked so we ended up choosing the vanilla rooibos.

i know, you're thinking anotherafternoontea at the lobby lounge post? i promise, there's more! but if you haven't already, check out my previous visits here & here. whenever i am asked to name my favourite lounge, lobby lounge at pacrim always immediately come to my mind. i always somehow end up here after dinner, or in some cases after a nice relaxing day at the spa. their sushi at the rawbar is hands-down one of my favourite. it's completely underrated in my opinion. they also have been named first 100 per cent ocean wise sushi destination.

my favourite lounging environment for drinks, appies, andafternoontea. i use to really love fairmont hotel vancouver forafternoontea, i think that location is more classic. here it's a bit more trendy but still casual. the girls and i can sit here for hours; talk, eat, drink and listen to the live piano..

like the urban tea merchant, afternoontea at the lobby lounge is another place where you should probably dress up for. for those who don’t know, the fairmont pacific rim is one of the fancier hotels in the downtown area which is only a stroll away from the view at waterfront. for $35/person, you can get:

though the experience was definitely pleasant, especially with the accompaniment of a pianist in the background, i was a little disappointed with the food given the price. nothing stood out to me as everything was rather mediocre, with some of the items not seeming that fresh. the service we had was slow, but she was polite and courteous nonetheless. if you do have the money to splurge and are looking for a more stylish take on the typicalafternoontea, i would recommend checking out soirette, urban tea merchant, and patisserie fur elise. if you are looking to find something more conventional with the china plates and grandmother-style treats, kerrisdale will be your best bet.

some rules should be put down. the food here is amazing. however, the staff was not as attentive as i expected. i've hadafternoontea at the shangrila, hotel vancouver and suitton and never have i received such disregard. but, the food made up for most of the un-attentive experience.

also, i do not think that they should not allow children under 4 to enter as they are just a noisy nuisance, especially for people who actually have to work and want to go there to ease their tensions and have a drink.

a great opportunity to haveafternoontea with a bff at a discounted rate for otherwise unaffordable food for my budget. chic and modern decor but disliked having to eat on such low tables.

verbal abuse at fairmont pacific rim. they served old chewy sushi atafternoontea!

they told us we could not take pictures of theafternoontea service let alone ourselves having it, so we got dressed up for the "posh experience" for nothing.

and they were extremely rude in telling us. that kind of language is simply unacceptable by people in the hopitality industry.

you are paying an awful lot for dry scones and cupcakes, especially when you are getting yelled at for wanting some mementos of your experience in what is considered a public area.

everything is wonderful at this hotel- oru, giovani, the gelato shop on the corner except theafternoontea in the lobby lounge! sushi does not belong on anafternoontea tier. period. especially not bad sushi style sandwiches. even the regular sandwiches are disappointing. the scones and jam were yummy, but that was the only good part of the tea.

theafternoontea set came with a plate of scones (dry and hard as usual), a tier of savory asian bites like tofu and ahi tuna nigiri sushis and a tier of desserts. their teapots were extremely heavy and hard to pour with. i almost spilled tea because it was that difficult. they had a selection of tea in a

afternoon tea is one of my favorite activities, so it's my goal to go to as many as possible. so when a 2 for 1 ($35)afternoontea deal popped up on socialshopper for half price, i immediately snatched it up.

we bought a social shopper coupon forafternoontea for two at the fairmont pacific rim for $35 and decided to use it one weekend. the coupon was a good deal as it would normally cost $70 for two people. after reading that they serve "sushi-style" sandwiches for tea, i wanted to try it! this certainly didn't sound like typicalafternoontea with the egg salad sandwiches, pastries and scones. the tea at pacific rim is served in their lobby of the hotel. it's a spacious area with cozy chairs, a fireplace and a fazioli piano! that piano was gorgeous! i loved the design that is etched on the inside portion of the cover. apparently, that piano cost $225 000! if i had that kind of money, i would buy a piano that looked like that! after we were seated, we were given a small box with the different tea selections. the tea leaves were in a small glass bottle where you can open up and take a whiff before deciding which tea to have. all the teas smelled really nice, but i decided to have the vanil
