some rules should be put down. the food here is amazing. however, the staff was not as attentive as i expected. i've had afternoon tea at the shangrila, hotel vancouver and suitton and never have i received such disregard. but, the food made up for most of the un-attentive experience.

also, i do not think that they should not allow children under 4 to enter as they are just a noisy nuisance, especially for people who actually have to work and want to go there to ease their tensions and have a drink.

a great opportunity to have afternoon tea with a bff at a discounted rate for otherwise unaffordable food for my budget. chic and modern decor but disliked having to eat on such low tables.

verbal abuse at fairmont pacific rim. they served old chewy sushi at afternoon tea!

they told us we could not take pictures of the afternoon tea service let alone ourselves having it, so we got dressed up for the "posh experience" for nothing.

and they were extremely rude in telling us. that kind of language is simply unacceptable by people in the hopitality industry.

you are paying an awful lot for dry scones and cupcakes, especially when you are getting yelled at for wanting some mementos of your experience in what is considered a public area.

everything is wonderful at this hotel- oru, giovani, the gelato shop on the corner except the afternoon tea in the lobby lounge! sushi does not belong on an afternoon tea tier. period. especially not bad sushi style sandwiches. even the regular sandwiches are disappointing. the scones and jam were yummy, but that was the only good part of the tea.

we decided to use the carvery lunch social shopper coupon that the bff had bought a few weeks ago. with bff's little one in tow, we set off for lunch at the lobby lounge at the fairmont pacific rim . since he couldn't partake in the carvery lunch, we ordered spaghetti with tomato sauce for him...although this was a kid's portion, i still found it quite generous. love the melted parmesan on top, along with the basil leaves as a garnish. i like how they don't dumb down the food just because it's for a child. i really like that. so here's what you get for the carvery lunch, regularly $19.95, we got it at 2-for-1 due to the social shopping coupon. the plate was so big it was hard to fit two on the table, along with the spaghetti & tomato sauce. we both started with the caesar salad, your usual blen of romaine, parmesan, cherry tomatoes, garlic and croutons. we both got the dressing on the side, and were glad we did, since the greens themselves were refreshing enough. the anchovy-caper dres

the afternoon tea set came with a plate of scones (dry and hard as usual), a tier of savory asian bites like tofu and ahi tuna nigiri sushis and a tier of desserts. their teapots were extremely heavy and hard to pour with. i almost spilled tea because it was that difficult. they had a selection of tea in a

curry chicken on baguette best savoury dish. the curry flavour and the chicken was well fused and the creamy texture made it an excellent spread for the bread

i bought a social shopper coupon for a carvery luncheon at the lobby lounge at the fairmont pacific rim. the deal is good for $20 for 2 carvery lunch sets ($40 value). the lobby lounge is located on the first floor of the fairmont pacific rim. as you can tell by the name, it is located near the lobby. it is an open space and has lots of comfy chairs…very comfy chairs. it's a great place to have a few drinks, appies and have a good chat or a meeting. for a drink, i was feeling like a non-alcoholic drink, so i ordered the flower pot ($8). it's not a tea or anything, it's just a soda. it was really good and refreshing, but $8 was quite steep ..but it is the fairmont, so its expected. the carvery meats used in the sandwich is cut in the dining room, if you sit close enough, you can see them cutting the prime rib and doing their thing. the carvery luncheon ($20) comes with choice of soup or salad, fries, prime rib burger and condiments on the side. we could choose from a tomato and garden

afternoon tea is one of my favorite activities, so it's my goal to go to as many as possible. so when a 2 for 1 ($35) afternoon tea deal popped up on socialshopper for half price, i immediately snatched it up.

we bought a social shopper coupon for afternoon tea for two at the fairmont pacific rim for $35 and decided to use it one weekend. the coupon was a good deal as it would normally cost $70 for two people. after reading that they serve "sushi-style" sandwiches for tea, i wanted to try it! this certainly didn't sound like typical afternoon tea with the egg salad sandwiches, pastries and scones. the tea at pacific rim is served in their lobby of the hotel. it's a spacious area with cozy chairs, a fireplace and a fazioli piano! that piano was gorgeous! i loved the design that is etched on the inside portion of the cover. apparently, that piano cost $225 000! if i had that kind of money, i would buy a piano that looked like that! after we were seated, we were given a small box with the different tea selections. the tea leaves were in a small glass bottle where you can open up and take a whiff before deciding which tea to have. all the teas smelled really nice, but i decided to have the vanil

the assortment of goodies were decadent and so pretty, from california rolls wrapped in cucumber to matcha mouse cake and chocolate macaroons. don’t expect traditional english high tea there would be no cucumber sandwiches and fruit tarts… the closest thing was they served were scones, everything else was fusion

the lobby of the fairmont pacific rim is regal, chic and comfortable. the modern fireplace in the middle adds a touch of glamour to the room.

the lobby lounge and patio is so exquisite that i wouldn't have lunch at the hotel unless there is a special occasion or i have a voucher. we were served immediately by a rather obligated waitress. she didn't bother explaining to us what each shortcake or sandwich is. there were not many people having high tea so the place was half empty. it is not as crowded as the other high tea cafes. the atmosphere is really nice for high tea, business and casual meetings.
