the living room

the lady treated me to lunch today. after much discussion about where to eat, the lady suggested living room. let me start of with a rant ..chennai bar & pub food does not get enough credit. i feel that the bar and pub food in chennai is far superior to most of the so called high end restaurants. walked into a warm reception by mr. uday who was very gracious and made us feel very comfortable. i loved the interiors, very chic. retro nineties hits playing, brought back landmark memories. a very nice gentleman took our orders. he was very kind in explaining the dishes, the spice levels and even recommended some house specialities. the lady had a strawberry lemonade. we ordered malai brocolli, spicy mushroom fry on a coin parotta, tender lamb pasanda, veg quesadilla & tiramisu. the malai broccoli was spectacular. the marinade was excellent & portion was generous. we loved it. the mushroom fry on coin parotta was a flavour explosion. it reminded me of the varutha kari in my neighborhood. a tad fiery for my taste buds, but brilliant taste. ably supported by the crunchy coin parotta, i would happily order this starter again. lipsmackingly delicious. my lamb pasanda was to die for. i was expecting a classic lucknowi mutton pasanda which is a mild mutton dish, but this was a pleasant surprise. a melt in the mouth succulent lamb preparation that made me focus on all its magnificent glory. a bit on the spicy side for me, but again ..awesome dish. the veg quesadilla was well made. loads of veggies and a classic mexican flavoring elevated the dish. the accompanying salsa was great but the sour cream was watery and a let down. the lady loved her strawberry lemonade so much that she ordered another. i ordered a tiramisu whic was recommended by the staff. it was a disappointment. the accompanying coffee ice cream was excellent but the tiramisu itself was insipid and more like a gluggy pastry. definitely not a dessert i would order from the living room. dhristi pottu i think. except for one person who irritated us by asking if the check can be prepared, even before we asked for it, everyone of the staff there were brilliant. the idea of visiting a restobar is to relax, have agoodmeal, a drink, talk, chill, spent a few hours, period. don't ask a patron if the check should be prepared unless you are closing down the place for the evening. so, barring the lacklustre tiramisu & the mild annoyance of being asked if we need the check, we had a wonderful time. the food was great, service was very good. if not for the tiramisu i would have given a 5. i look forward to coming back and trying their main courses, especially their mutton dishes. thank you living room for making it a great experience for us. cheers...even though it is a dry day today. 😁😁

verygoodambience and service. vishnu who was servicing us was so prompt and friendly. lovely place for a weekend dinner.

the place is well made with service beinggoodand mr. arasu being at his best in service and warm welcome. the drinks and food are priced well. most of the finger foods aregoodas this is a lounge place. hardly ever tried the main course since starters are enough when you are drinking. normally the main course ordered has been black dal, paneer and roti which aregoodtoo.

one of the very few posh pubs in chennai which isgoodin all aspects including the decent crowd.

i had been to this place on saturday evening based on my friend’s suggestion. i loved the experience.

i tried coin parotta kodi roast, nagari fish fry, murgh tikka kalimirchi and kizhi parotta chicken. every item was good. i loved the food here. since i consumed bottled beer, there’s nothing to say about that.

ambience was very good. rooftop is just lit. service was very good. staff attended us very patiently.

prices are a bit higher. but considering the vibe of the place, i felt it appropriate.

i would recommend this place to people who are interested in consuming alcohol withgoodfood and posh crowd.

the place was prettygoodbut the staff’s behaviour and the manager of the bar, mr sriram were terrible with their attitude.

they dont value you unless you are a so called “vip customer” and openly ask you to leave the place.

had a terrible experience and would never recommend this place to anyone and also never visiting it again.

the place wasn’t very happening. the service could be better. they did not ask us were we would like to sit instead gave some space on their own. the pizza tastedgoodbut costed around 471 with taxes. everything on menu is also a bit costly.

must go place in town and best for live cricket match viewings along with fab food, house cocktails and supergoodmusic!!

special mention to uday and his team who are always very prompt in making you feel at ease and make you come back again and again to have agoodtime 😁! one of the best hangout places in anna nagar. two floors- one indoor and the other is outdoor. lovely ambience and comfortable seating! the food menu has been done well and they keep reinventing too, which makes you look forward to going back again.

guys! must visit place in your list. randomly visited this place on a weekday evening and was blown away by their ambience/food/courteous staff! this place became my favourite that i visited thrice same week to this place 😛 i would really rate 💯 for the staff people!! keep up thegoodwork.

i ordered a cold coffee and almost an hour later i called the waiter to check, he said it’s a busy restaurant and not the right time for us to serve cold coffee. what he suggested instead was to go for mock tails or cocktails. is this how the non-drinkers would be treated?
i was terribly disappointed, and wouldn’t suggest this place to the people expectinggoodhospitality. denying customer a basic cold coffee isn’t something that’s acceptable!!

we were 4 people, booked a table in advance, so chill in that aspect. we got the rooftop. they also have a regular setting which was full..

overall the food was very tasty. if a negative is to be mentioned, the crespelle was a bit too oily which was not pleasant to eat. rest all dishes were mouth-watering and yummy.

the service is to be commended. there are many staff to assist. happy to see that..

if you are looking for a newgoodspot, try this place.. you won't regret it.

tried their spaghetti pasta in agli-olio sauce, & boy i'm in love! i love how the perfectly cooked spaghetti blended so well with the garlic & herbs!🤤

also had their dal makhani, and it was mouth-watering! tasted very similar to home made one so on days you're lazy to cook, you know where to head to or order from!😉

this place has an amazing ambience and has a really cozy setup,the views are amazing.the food is reallygoodand amazing as well.the service was quite fast and the staff were friendly. they have an excellent choice of menu for people who prefer south indian as well.

loved loved loved the food. the chicken coin poratta starter was my favorite! the ambience is beautiful but you'll could work on better music. the lava cake and cheesecake was amazing. green chilli mutton was yum and the nachos weregoodtoo. the aglio olio was average, the garlic could have been cooked more . i would suggest making a garlic chilli oil in advance, letting it infuse and then making the dish with that. overall will definitely go back!!!
