good food, greatbeerand perfect service. graduating daughter and i had a wonderful time tonight. it is a treat "people watching" from the quaint raised wood booths of the bar with a draught of guinness. our server was perfectly attentive and food all well prepared. indeed, you might see some loud college students (see prior review) but that's part of the fun :()

poor service experience. i didn't recognize most the beers on the menu as a traveler i am familar with numerous brands..not wanting to pick abeerthat i might not like, i picked an americanbeerthat i've had before. the first sip conviced me i wasn't drinking anymore of it. i asked the waitress to take it off my bill. the manager appeared a couple minutes later to inform he would not take it off the bill, but offered to provide another type of beer. i told him ihat i wasn't interested in trying anotherbeeras my dinner had i arrived andbeerdoesn't taste good to me during a meal. i asked for a credit. he told me he had to charge me for the beer. i asked him if he was wiling to lose future business and have me tell the online community about the my poor service experience for 2.50 your can guess his reply. i did spend a total of 20.00 for an average meal. there are numerous restaurants close by with better food and service.

perfect for friend reunion. ist time here--to meet a friend i had not seen in eight years--so we wanted a quiet, comfortable place to talk and catch-up. the irish lion was perfect. lovely, comfortable, clean environment. no loud throbbing music, so we were able to talk to each other with ease. thebeerwas excellent--ok i had guiness so you cant go wrong--but it was delicious. all the food orders were very good--the lamb burger and the soup i would order again. the wait staff was attentive and caring with quick service

a local gem. from the charming ambiance to the ample menu this place is a gem.

it's a great place to grab some irish stew inside on a cold winter's day or a great place for abeeroutside on a sunny afternoon.

the downstairs features ample seating along an heirloom bar. cozy booths sit opposite the bar on the main level. a bi-level back end features more seating in a slit level above and below. additional and expansive seating can be found upstairs, making it a favorite for large groups.

the irish lion is particularly popular with indiana university graduate students, faculty, and staff and lacks (thankfully) the college bar vibe.

plentiful menu options, both traditional irish and american pub fare, as well as a finebeerand spirits selection make this a great, unique, experience in bloomington.
