the grill - marriott hotel al forsan

delicious steak!  all the food was excellent in fact.  joanita was very pleasant and helpful.  she is a wonderful hostess.  we stay regularly at the marriottalforsan and will definitely come back to the grill.  thank you!

the grill is one of abu dhabi’s foremost steakhouses, hosted at the marriottalforsan, and offering an excellent venue for a fine-dining experience. it’s truly a splendid restaurant – with the interior design really setting the mood. whether your group requires a long table for hoots and laughter,

in khalifa city, abu dhabi, the number of steakhouses for a special evening or casual dinners with friends are far and few but the grill at marriotalforsan certainly stands out.  we had the pleasure of spending our anniversary dinner at this venue and we were not disappointed. boasting a welcoming ambience with modern décor chic lighting, the atmosphere was relaxed and warm. we were seated with a big smile from the hostess and was promptly attended to by our server. as we opened this massive maze of a menu, the chef was kind enough to come by and walk us through their concept and his signatures dishes.

the main problem with this restaurant is that its located inside the marriottalforsan, which is perhaps the worst hotel on the planet concerning customer service and value.

our stay was a nightmare.

they were painting outside our room and the fumes were noxious.we have baby and and a three-year-old child.

the bathroom flooded all over our room!

we left after only a few hours with the front desk agreeing to refund our entire 2,000+ aed.

we later received an email from the hotel management informing us that they would only refund 250 aed!

we didn't even stay in the room! this hotel is a thief among other things.

when it opened earlier this year, the marriottalforsan introduced a line of original restaurants to abu dhabi. these include the appaloosa sports pub; the couture lounge; the khayal culinary-wonder; and the splash poolside bar. but our highlight today is the magnificent, the spectacular, the extravagant, the aptly-titled – the grill. trust when we say the name masks a delicious depth to the restaurant.

looking forward to dining with abu dhabi friends we hadn’t seen in far too long, anticipation was high for our meal at the grill.  the restaurant — like the majority of the venues at the marriottalforsan — is located on the main floor, to the left of the lobby after the entrance.  on arrival, i found the layout spacious and was happy to see modern touches in the form of an open kitchen, private dining room, soaring ceilings, and kitschy black and white photography on the walls.  we were greeted warmly and shown to a table overlooking the kitchen, which, turns out quite a bit of protein — including one of the largest cuts in the uae, the 1200g tomahawk chop (priced at a competitive aed475).  guests are invited to view the large grill, should they want to see how their meat is doing.

we had dinner here at the grill in marriottalforsan, and all i can say is it was excellent! we were first served a nice crusted bread with a good choice of spreads (tomato, olive and butter). the main dish, tomahawk, cooked right infront of us by the chef was superb, along with nicely grilled asparagus and creamy spinach. for dessert we had this crispy noodled with pistacios and ice cream. overall experience was superb! prices were just right and worth the money. a must try and highly recommended! thanks to the chef for a wonderful experience!
