one word. outstanding. the food, the service, and the cocktails. plus, they have the best prosecco i've ever tasted.

a friend told me about "the frog & the peach" a while ago, so i put it on my "dining bucket list" ... in short, i'm glad i went ... but not without comment.
for the appetizers, i had the 'local hothouse tomato', which was excellent and my girl had the 'cured tuna sashimi', which for the price was a rediculously small portion.
for the main course, my date had the 'tea cured long island duck breast', which she liked a lot and i had the 'duo of iberico pork', which i was a little disappointed in. the grilled pork skirt part of the dish was tasty but the braised rib croqueta portion was a bit too salty.
that being said, other that a few missteps the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere and the service was excellent and we will definitely go there again.

stay away. went to this restaurant with a bunch of friends. the waiter was clueless about menu. the portions were so overpriced and bland tasting. they call this place "gourmet" to make you feel better about getting ripped off on tiny portions. the red snapper entree was the size of my index finger with 2 pieces of calamari underneath. my salad had a total of about 7 pieces of lettuce. the bill was about $100 each person, and i regret not eating before i arrived there. i was looking for a diner after i ate there because i was starving. don't waste your time or money. this place sucks.

resting on its laurels?. i can't vote the frog up or down... i stopped going there about a year ago. in my opinion, it is overpriced and bit full of itself (aka stuffy). mostly i could not abide the service, which was part wait staff and part drama (really, just feed me and forget the "it's all about me - aren't i clever" thing.) i do give the frog kudos for being the pioneer upper-end restaurant to brave a down-at-the-heels new brunswick well before its revitalization.

used to be great. when the frog and the peach opened, it was by far the best restaurant in central nj. now the menu is tired and the service is poor. you can't expect good service if you are filling the restaurant with patrons getting the $29 special.

good -- and pretentious. undeniably good food but too pretentious. this is new brunswick new jersey. not manhattan; not paris; not rome. it would be a great place if they just weren't so full of themselves. over the years it's gotten more and more pretentious to the point where i just want to slap them down. but - great food - that can't be denied. but too f#$%'n pretentious. it detracts from the food experience, which is what it should be about. they need to come back to the basics. maybe "dress down" days with paper plates? hehehe

you might say the secret ingredient is... salt. every time i eat here everything is terribly salty. i don't understand how this place gets such great critical reviews... maybe they get the reviewers too drunk to taste the salt. the food is pretentious but it's the old presentation over flavor problem. i only go here against my will now. believe the other reviews at your own risk.

pricey. food was good, but not good enough to warrant the price.

my friend and i settled on the frog & the peach, and there i had the $29 prix fixe frugal farmer. i started with the sunchoke bisque, which tasted better than it looked

i was disappointed to find my entree couldn't match the quality of fine dining restaurants such as texas roadhouse.

we have gone high class... err, we have gone to a high class restaurant. feeling the need to eat and desire to splurge, we decided to go to the frog and the peach for their prix fixe lunch. for $25, a soup or salad, an entree, and a glass of wine or desse
