the cozy place

great authentic chineserestaurant(no msg). i went for dinner at cozy place last night with some friends and was thoroughly impressed by the authentic chinese dishes that were offered. therestauranthas an open kitchen that is remarkably clean, just like the rest of the restaurant. the food boasts great flavours that are not often found in chinese restaurants in vic and it is quite obvious that no msg is used. it is owned and operated by a very nice couple (front of house and chef) and you can tell that they have a true passion for their cuisine. do yourself a favor and give it a try, you will not regret it.

chinese home cooking. thisrestaurantis squeezed between two popular victoria restaurants ( sura and green leaf bistro) ..do yourselves a favour and don't pass by without going in!!! i went in with my family and fell in love instantly. it is an open kitchen concept so you can see the owner/chef cook your food. the owners are a husband and wife team and they are both lovely. you can tell they are proud of what they do when they explain that everything is by scratch and no msg is in any of their dishes. the food was just wonderful. very rare in victoria can you find authentic home dishes that they make and every dish is made with care. try their garlic shrimp spring roll, special sweet and sour pork, and honey garlic ribs. if you are daring, go for the special stuff like lamb hot pot and beef tendon and brisket noodle. whatever you get, you know you'll leave satisfied.

authenticity in the heart of victoria!. great authentic chinese food that you don't see in a victoria! the owner scott is incredibly nice and it really makes it feel like a cozy meal at someone's house. try it out! you won't be disappointed!

best chinese in victoria and the island! light fresh dishes with lots of flavour and no msg!. new and very cleanrestaurantwith an open kitchen and friendly owners! the food is something light, creative and unexpected in victoria. traditional dishes with a few surprises mixed in. we enjoyed three dishes, brisket and tendon rice noodle soup, cozy place chow mein and the garlic shrimp spring rolls. the brisket soup was very flavourful, light broth with asian cabage and hand cut rice noodles. a great dish to enjoy with two or more people. the house chow mein was incredible; delicate wok friend noodles with garlicky baby bok choi, chicken and mixed seafood. wish we had ordered two because we both loved it! the garlic shrimp rolls are by far the star of the show. rolls are packed with shrimp and garlic, no noodles or fillers and served with a sweet plum sauce! they perfect accompaniment to any dish. all the food is made fresh, with very light oil, packed full of flavour and will leave you wishing you had ordered more! can't wait to head back or order take-out.
