thai satay

a good choice for thai in san mateo, but i feel it's a bit overpriced (it would be fine if they didn't charge extra for the rice). a very nice selection for vegetarians, with my favorite being the yellow curry. unfortunately the thai fried rice is too buttery and lacks flavor.

i am a genuine thai food lover and loved the food here. the ambience is decent and the service is prompt. go for the thai egg rolls and the yellow curry(one of the best i've tasted)

good service and delicious food. i visited thai satay in san mateo with a friend and we both tried the spicy catfish special, which they informed us was a new menu item. it was small pieces of fried catfish in a curry sauce, with green beans, peppers and crispy basil.

the food was fantastic, but what impressed me even more was that we arrived 20 minutes before they closed and they never made us feel rushed. we finished eating just a bit after closing and they offered to refill our waters, etc. i definitely appreciated that.

rivals my favorite thai place at home. i stopped in this place in a hurry on my way to drop a colleague at the train station and what a lucky find! i loved it. the chicken satay was great, though the peanut sauce could have been a bit spicier (notice this theme in all my reviews?) we had shrimp with sweet basil that was an absolutely perfect blend of spicy, sweeet and salty and panang chicken that had snow peas and asaparagus that were perfectly cooked- still crisp but tender. it can't be thai without the great iced tea. not only was the food great, the service was excellent and the staff was extremely friendly. the 12v chargers in my rental car didn't work and they were kind enough to let me charge my gps while i ate. i would definitely make the trip back here if in the bay area again.
