i ate here with a friend on a monday night.  we got into our hotel later than we expected because it took longer to find ground transportation from the orlando airport.  it was about 8:00 pm when we set out from our hotel.  i had looked up thai fuku before we left for the trip.  i was still craving a bowl of thai curry, and my friend was okay with that, too.

we were seated promptly.  immediately, i noticed the sparse decorations.  the feel of this place is a little bit better than a restaurant that does mostly take-out, but i have eaten at nicer looking thai and japanese restaurants.

we saw the extensive sushi menu, but we both headed for the thai entrees part of the menu.  i ordered red curry with pork. he got a chicken broccoli stir fry.  we both ordered brown rice with our entrees.  it cost more, but it was definitely worth it.  i think that they actually used black rice mixed with white rice judging by the appearance and taste of what we were served, but it had the earthy flavor that i like from black rice and brown rice.  it was cooked sticky enough to hold together in a cup shape on the plate on which it was served.

i was pretty hungry, so i had no trouble finishing the entire bowl of red curry.  the vegetables were still a little bit tender.  any time i get curry with vegetables that are not mushy makes me happy.  it was also nice to have what tasted like cucumbers in there.  i don't think i have ever had cucumbers in curry, but it was surprisingly tasty.  the pork was well cooked and cut into bite sized pieces.

i don't know if i'll ever be back in cocoa beach, but now i know that they have at least onegoodplace to get thai curries.

sushi and then some....... we were in port canaveral visiting my future in-laws, who were looking for something "different." a quick survey of urbanspoon mobile turned up several options and i was in the mood for thai/sushi. while the outside is unassuming (attached to a beach xtreme store) there is plenty of room inside and a big menu to choose from. i hadn't had sushi in a while so i went that route. the fiancee and her parents were a little less adventurous and tried the pad see iw and drunken noodles. we also had their sampler plate of appetizers: gyoza, fried tofu, squid, spring rolls and crab rangoon. we did get a california roll so the others could try a little faux-sushi. i added the seduction roll to my order of nigiri and all the fish quality was quite good. didn't ask about toro (wasn't on the menu). agoodselection of beers and house wines in most varieties and everyone should be happy.
if you're tired of the same old fish place and you've had italian too many times in the past month, give thai fuku a try...there's something for everyone.

don't judge a book by its cover!. my husband looked at the menu and was very sceptical. i encouraged him to keep an open mind because our kids wanted thai and sushi. we were blown away with how fabulous everything was. my very sceptical husband couldn't believe it. the waiter ethan was so helpful and knowledgeable. the lobster dragon roll was to die for.we tried a variety of sushi - allgoodeven had the option to get brown rice sushi. we also tried the thai basil chicken and the chicken red curry. we opted for our curries to be a 7 on the hotness scale. this is not for everybody but we loved it. our friend found the pad thai too hot at level 5!! but it was still very tasty. my son had the chicken teriyaki , it was excellent and a very generous portion of tender chicken breast. we can hardly wait to go back and try some of the other tasty temptations on the menu. ethan highly recommended the bbq pork and the pineapple fried rice. tip.... order lots so you can take some home!!!! fantastic!
