i ate here with a friend on a monday night. we got into our hotel later than we expected because it took longer to find ground transportation from the orlando airport. it was about 8:00 pm when we set out from our hotel. i had looked up thai fuku before we left for the trip. i was still craving a bowl of thai curry, and my friend was okay with that, too.
we were seated promptly. immediately, i noticed the sparse decorations. the feel of this place is a little bit better than a restaurant that does mostly take-out, but i have eaten at nicer looking thai and japanese restaurants.
we saw the extensive sushi menu, but we both headed for the thai entrees part of the menu. i ordered red curry with pork. he got a chicken broccoli stir fry. we both ordered brown rice with our entrees. it cost more, but it was definitely worth it. i think that they actually used black rice mixed with white rice judging by the appearance and taste of what we were served, but it had the earthy flavor that i like from black rice and brown rice. it was cooked sticky enough to hold together in a cup shape on the plate on which it was served.
i was pretty hungry, so i had no trouble finishing the entire bowl of red curry. the vegetables were still a little bit tender. any time i get curry with vegetables that are not mushy makes me happy. it was also nice to have what tasted like cucumbers in there. i don't think i have ever had cucumbers in curry, but it was surprisingly tasty. the pork was well cooked and cut into bite sized pieces.
i don't know if i'll ever be back in cocoa beach, but now i know that they have at least onegoodplace to get thai curries.
