when i heard the breakfast buffet at teapot is supposed to be a must-try for anybody who stays here, i had high expectations and finally got to check it out.
the interiors made me fall in love with the place. the lushy greens, the artificial lake and the fountain, the tasteful decor and the corners filled with exclusive artefacts- it was love at first sight but sadly it couldn't keep up after that.
the spread was pretty big and had everything from continental, north indian, south indian etc. there were salads, croissants, finger food like mini burgers, potato wedges, dhoklas sauted vegetables, pastries etc. eggs, pancakes and dosas are made to order. so after having sampled literally everything they had to offer here's my pick-
must try:
1. cheese and mushroom omlette - it is an open kitchen and the chef is pretty friendly. you can go all out and customise your omelette the way you want it and i liked this the best
2. pancakes with maple syrup - hot pancakes with a drizzle of butter giving the little saltiness and maple syrup make the best breakfast combination
3. salads and juices - all varieites of freshly cut fruit, sprouts and vegetables are on display and you can handtoss your salad the way you like. only wish they had a choice of sauces as well.
avoid:
1. chocolate mud cake - this felt more of mud and less of chocolate. one bite and we could feel the staleness. not sure how old it was.
2. scrambled eggs - tasted and looked watery. total let-down.
3. mini burger and sandwich - stale and hard. the lesser said, the better
4. oats porridge - so bland and tasteless that i had to drink the entire glass of water to gulp it down forcefully.
the rest of the food stands upto pretty much what we expect from a place of such repute - nothing more, nothing less.
a heads up about the extremely rude staff. they are in a rush to clear your plates even before you get your spoon/fork off it. you request for some juice and all you get is those really cold vibes asking to let them know in one go if anything else is required.
for the premium price of 700 inr, a much better service level and quality is expected.
overall, lot of potential but lots of improvement needed as well
