tea pot - mayfair lagoon

so walked in to the mayfair which happens to be the best property in bhubaneswar. really was in love with the amount of nature they have indulged all over the property. its a pretty long walk from the lobby to the restaurant.
the covers are laid out of the restaurant to accomodate more guests or for the guest prefering to sit with a fountain view. i made a reservation prior so got my table in a giffy.

lavish spread of buffet was on offer. the starters consisted of fish and chicken. grilled fish and dry chilli chicken were the options to avail. maincourse was huge. they have segregated their spread in 3 major cuisines which are oriental, indian and continental.
an array of deserts were there to select from. the red velvet and blueberry cheese cake were the pick of them.
1280 bugs all inclusive is what one needs to pay for the experience which i found to be pretty reasonable.

the ambiance is good, staff is courteous and the food is lipsmacking. this place has all the ingredients to send their guest home back with a smile. kudos team tea pot for an amazing show!.
recommened for all.

great ambience to seat and have food. be it afternoon or evening always a good time to spend here. food here is brilliant as well. a family, friends everybody can have quality time here.

the last visit was literally torture to our mind & soul. a buffet is not to satisfy the tummy but to satisfy a soul. though the food was amazing the services was much below our expectations and your standard.

the following are the few things i'd like to recommend if we were ever to visit again:

1} refill your deserts on time.

2} your entire setup is a showpiece without reality !! though the complete setup is self service we expect your waiters to serve water at least, that is the least we expect from a restaurant of your stature.

3} when you add something as kaju barfis to the desert we expect not to be tortured by the little quantity you serve .......... the waiter kept us waiting for 20 minutes only to come back saying "they're out of kaju barfis.."

i apologize @priyanka @prajwal for the disappointed lunch that ruined our mood. @sibasis das : you should be grateful that you missed something worst & never consider teapot as a place to satisfy our soul>.

i had been to this place with my family on 24th december night just before christmas, i'm not sure if it still counts as an occasion. the place was nicely lit up with christmas decorations all around.
one of the waiters seemed pretty prompt at table service like pouring water whenever he saw an empty glass. apart for that, the food was average at best. no, there was no à la carte and only buffet. the buffet wasn't set properly. except for the desert section which btw barely had 4 items, the starters, main course wasn't spread out based on segments. it was all mixed and you have to go looking around multiple times just to figure out what to get from where. chicken is the major savoury for any non-vegetarian but there was barely any item. there were not many choices or rice, in fact just one rice and one noodle item. an average buffet would at least have 2. mostly fish and lamb. 11pm is the closing time, but at 10.35pm the waiters seemed to be keen on closing down for some reason. i went to the live pasta counter around the same time and the chef who makes it wasn't there, i asked one of the waiters and he told me he will call for him. i stood there for about good 7-10 minutes, waiters went by me, saw me waiting, noone bother to ask me anything, not did the chef turn up at the live pasta counter. the live pasta counter wasn't live/alive at all and i didn't feel like asking or bothering anyone else as everyone seemed to be wanting to close the place down. and when the bill came in, i was thoroughly surprised. the buffet price mentioned is less than 1k at zomato but they had some friggin special buffet going on and it was 2k/person.

requesting anyone wanting to go here ask what the buffet cost is or you'd be in for a shock rather than surprise. and better go around and check what the buffet have to offer before you go ahead spending money on something that isn't even worth half of it.
2000/head for the variety of food offered and especially the kind of service offered was just not cutting it. and the ambience doesn't really justify it either.
i'd probably think multiple times before i make a return to that place.

i have been here for the breakfast buffet. they had a huge array of food which was fresh and tasty. it might happen that you end up having a mix of continental and oriental dishes along with dosas and vadas. the way the food is laid out has no order.
they serve both the staff is very friendly.

we were there by 7:30 pm and the food was still not ready & the wait was not worthwhile. the dinner buffet has a very interesting spread, by interesting i meant they served indian chinese,mexican,italian and indian. although, i could do justice to only indian starters and mutton rogan josh from the main course.the main course was damp squib. i will not waste my money on such a spread again. service was not bad and ambience was okay.

a low rating not for the food, but for the service. although the timings are 0700-2300 if one reaches at a time before the start of the buffet please be assured that your food would be served only once they have finished preparing and setting it up. we reached at 1200 for brunch and got our order at 1300. the reason? setting up the buffet... not acceptable but the food was good, except for the part that inspite of being an open air restaurant the straws did not have covers.

i love eating here . class never goes out of style . my personal favourite here is the bali prawn . among the rest restaurant tea pot is the best . it will hit the pocket but being a star hotel you have to dig it . you can try sea foods and fish , pancake . as it's a restobar . you can pick you fav iml and few imported drinks . great ambience and good service .

one place which will win your heart. ambience is top class. a date here or a friendly outing with your friends, you're bound to love this place. beautiful decor, service, and food complements your evening. it's a paradise for vegetarians as well offering numerous delicacies, can improve on non vegetarian offerings and combination of dishes. all in all, a very good place to enjoy.

my love for mayfair is restricted to super snax and mamma mia. food and service are a little inconsistent. all the rating is for the ambience.

posh, ambience, richness, service, hygienic top notch. loved it frm strter to desserts. yummilious. wl be keep coming it... 5 star food.....

the ambience and decor is very refreshing yet classy.
coming to the food, variety is a lot! be it the sunday brunch or breakfast/lunch buffet. everything from quality to quantity the care is taken.
indian,continental and lots more cuisine options are available. i would just suggest to have some more variety is deserts too.

been there twice. and amazingly mesmerised twice. stafs are nice. amazing lunch and dinner buffet. the maincourse is awesome. best place to have luxury food in bbsr.
and the environment is totally worth visiting. beautiful landscapes and scenic beauty

its grand and a delight for a foodie to be here. the buffet is awesome and more so not because of the spread, variety of food but more for the quality of food it serves. teapot is the place to be in bhubaneswar if you are a buffet lover. i assure you that you  would find value for the money you pay. famous for its breakfast buffet (one of the best in the town), its lunch buffet is equally impressive !a great place to hang out in a large group, its beautiful ambience and hospitable staff deserves a 4.5 rating. keep up the good work team teapot, mayfair :)

ambience, check. food, check. hospitality, check. the poshest place in bhubaneswar in terms of food beverage etc. the outdoor sitting arrangements are the best. enter the restaurant after that and you get exactly the perfect class for food is. the buffet spread is amazing. diverse range to choose from.
