pretty decent food for a tavern setting,

i ordered the beef burger & chips $21.50 was quite good.
wife ordered the chicken schnitzel was not worth the money $28 was dry and tasteless. the salad and chips were good just the chicken was poor quality.
ordered the apple crumble $12.50 - fail
got it swapped for choc brownie , much better !
had a coffee which was not too bad considering environment.
overall 6/10

my partner and i decided to go to this tavern as the highland restaurant seemed to be quite pricey. well, we came here and we're definitely not disappointed!
we ordered a bottle of pinot noir as tasmania is famous for that. i got the schnitzel with mash n veggies n my partner had the steak and chips.
we were both so ravenous as we hadn't had anything else after breakfast.
the food arrived piping hot, fresh and seasoned perfectly. it was almost faultless, and we would definitely come back here again! :)

one of the few places to grab a bite at cradle country. very friendly staff and hearty pub meals. would recommend the calamari salad, beef and mushroom pie + mushroom soup.

we were pretty happy with the food and the service. nothing like a big meal to fill a big hunger after so much walking. thanks so much.

haven in the cold. nothing like the solace of a hearty pub meal with a beer near the secluded peaks of cradle mountain. was warmed up to much content by a chicken parma & my boyfriend had a good burger. definitely recommended!

today was the first day in tasmania and what was on our itinerary? hiking at the iconic cradle mountain! of the limited choices available for dinner along cradle mountain road, we settled at  peppers cradle mountain lodge tavern bar & bistro . we didn't stay in at the 'peppers cradle mountain lodge' itself, rather, we chose to sojourn in a private cottage managed by 'cradle mountain highlanders cottages'. it was a lovely winter stay as we got to witness the snow; snuggle warm with a traditional wood-fired fireplace; watched possums climbing on our front porch, and simply just getting away from reality. it was a mind and emotional test that i survived zero wifi connection.  peppers cradle mountain lodge tavern bar & bistro is just a few hundred metres drive away from our private cottage. after a day of hiking, boy aren't we famished. a burger and pizza would be the perfect first meal to start off our tasmanian journey with. cradle burger, 20.90aud because sharing is caring, we proportio

the tavern is two levels of big tables, a bar, wood heater and a pool table. our visit to cradle mountain was in the middle of the week and it was very quiet and we never had an issue getting a table. ordering is done at the bar and the food is brought out by the staff.
