tasi cafe is phenomenal. my family and i visited tasi cafe may 19 after reading the positive reviews. i'm a decent cook so i pay close attention to the foods i eat. tasi cafe exceeded my expectations. we had lunch sandwiches and the taste was very good. i'd be surprised if there were a better sandwich spot in columbus. i know katzingers(sp?) is great too but it's so expensive. tasi has reasonable prices and high quality food. i'll recommend it to my friends and will look forward to going back!

tasi cafe. so i went to another eating establishment for breakfast; tasi café, and i must say it was rather good. tasi café is located in the short north at 680 n. pearl street. parking is challenging, i would recommend to park on a side street or on north high street and walk over. the restaurant is really small and popular; we had to stand outside for a little bit. this is defiantly a place for you and your boo to go to for breakfast or lunch. large parties are not encouraged. the ambiance was nice, service was a little slow, but that was because it was so busy. seating is community style, no waitress to seat you. i got the cinnamon french toast with bananas and maple syrup, a side of bacon and a fruit cup. my son got pancakes with bacon, and a side of eggs. all of this came to about $23.00. not bad for 2 people. they also serve lunch and have a carry out service. nothing to do on a saturday morning? check out tasi café. http://www.tasicafe.com/menu.php#breakfast

poor taste in service. yes, everyone gives this place high marks. but to my experiences at other short north establishments, no thanks, my income will be going elsewhere.

to the very nervous and put off "server" at tasi's around 1ish yesterday. yes, i see your restaurant has a very swinging crowd and since my companion and i were being accommodating to your special guests and decided to order our food to go, as there were no seats anyway. but low and behold a table opened up and alas while we waited what seemed endlessly for our to go order there was a table opened up and the crowd had thinned so we thought well it's been so long surely they wouldn't mind of we changed our minds and wanted to stay and finally eat. yes, i know there are rules about that kind of thing, taxes, other patrons....blah blah blah. how about the next thing you do is to check on that also paying patrons order, instead of use that opportunity as a good time to restock your kitchen? you're rude, inconsiderate and quit foolish. i won't be back. thank you very much. and thank you to the server that did find our lost order. smh. too bad you're a scar to the short north community in my book!

tasi is one of my little family's go to spots for brunch. we enjoy it enough that we visit about three times a month at least, but we have definitely had a few things that we downright did not like one bit. so we stick to our usuals- poached eggs with black bean cakes or chicken salad sandwich- but we're wary of exploring the menu. the quality of the food is definitely good but i just question who decided to put some of these dishes together for the menu... they are just flat out not good.

really good breakfast---nice place. my son and i just started a sunday tradition of finding the best breakfast around columbus. this is our third week and we chose tasi based on reviews. the food was really good and we really liked ordering our food at the counter and then being served. only one complaint---it was so cold, the air was blowing on us the whole time---which meant our food turned cold very quickly. : ( all the tables were full, so we couldn't move to escape the cold air. we will return in the future --- maybe wait until they need to turn on the heat!!!

great food, great cooks. i used to live right down the street and this was a great go to brunch joint for hangover screwdrivers and oatmeal. never had a bad meal or drink from here and i never mind the seemingly high prices for small portions because of the high quality of the food. every time i go i see the same chefs in the open kitchen. they are always friendly and happy to see each other and make great food. however, the servers are often a little too snobby for my taste. get some servers with some consistent smiles and attention and i would be there every day.

great breakfasts!. we've been there twice for breakfast, on weekends or holidays. the place was quite crowded, but the line moved quick. both times we were able to get a seat easily.

the food is really good. have had the huevos, farmers omelet (i think thats what it was), fruit plate, and pancakes. definitely recommend this place. its not bob evans, and thats one of the many things that makes it great!

good lunch choice. tried tasi today for lunch and had the chicken panini. it was good, but not fabulous. soup of the day was kale & bacon which had an amazing and fresh flavor. definitely want to try it again to get the wow factor that others have about this place. the breakfast menu looks yummy! looking forward to it. oh, and the place is very cute too.

best kept secret in c'bus. my wife and i love to eat and can be very critical (since she can cook better food herself than 98% of restaurants out there), but we give tasi the highest marks. everything we ever have on the menu is amazing (best biscuits and gravy north of the mason-dixon, and the banana french toast is out of sight). definitely try it if you havent been.

this is not a critique as i actually think it adds to its charm, but be careful going right at lunch time as it will definitely be packed and finding a seat can be tough.

food hound: tidbits - tasi cafe. food hounds of all ages… welcome to a quaint little spot right off henderson road in columbus, ohio. follow the old school cobblestone path that will lead you to the indescribable, welcoming aroma of freshly brewed coffee and delicious eats! brimstone here; welcoming you to tasi – a killer café that is bright, bold and very moderately priced fitting into any budget. being that this place is smaller than the average restaurant; make sure you leave yourself with enough time to battle the crowds! no really… they actually have food tours that make their way through on fridays and saturdays to sample their daily specials and homemade jam and soups. although they have wait staff, it is set up in a café style that you make your own coffee after ordering with the extremely pleasant cast of crew members on hand. i personally could not get over the ambiance of the location – very homely and hipster. meanwhile, the scents dispersing from the kitchen engulfed the entire restaurant and since the hounds were hungry; sent us reeling in anticipation. as it was an early morning for the hounds, i needed a quick pick me up which was provided by my rich and great smelling double cappacino; while luscious sampled a cold, refreshing and yummy organic black tea out of a fancy glass.

on to the food… the buttermilk pancakes with sweet & spicy bacon was large and in charge! i thoroughly enjoyed the thick and fluffy pancakes that engulfed an entire plate! not only were they delicious; but the ohio maple syrup that i poured over the cakes had an uber-awesome and distinct taste that differentiates itself from the norm. now that bacon… it’s bursting with flavor behavior; a smoky bacon flavor with a slight spice and a sweet aftertaste. their homemade biscuits and sausage gravy was a huge platter that included two over-sized buttery biscuits, made fresh daily from their sister bakery a block away – nowhere near dry; they lay cut open and stuffed with a healthy heaping of sausage in gravy! the creamy gravy was heavenly and served as the perfect accompaniment to the sausage. speaking of sausages, one of their side dishes is a smoked chicken and apple sausage which is made locally. this sucker was very pleasing to the taste buds; the chicken offered a smoked flavor with a slight sweetness from the infused apple. seriously, this is not only amazing; its aroma is mind boggling! i could eat that all day every day!

just for everyone’s knowledge, every egg they churned out here was perfection. seriously. perfect! the poached eggs with black bean cake was declared the win by etan wish. a perfect kick-starter for the day; two amazing eggs perched above soft and yummy black bean cakes – then drizzled with a boss jalapeno butter sauce! the butter sauce offered a bit of a hot kick which evened out with the mixture of egg and beans. so good… the bean cake literally melts on your mouth as the butter permeates your taste buds! another spicy delight was the huevos rancheros with queso fresco and black bean tortilla. the sauce was a hot cross between marinara and salsa which hit the spot; the crispy black bean tortilla evened out the spice and was sturdy enough to hold the weight of the again, perfectly made eggs and boss sauce. two thumbs up… another win! another side we tried were the potato latkes that had a slight crisp and a very tasty and flavorful hint of onion… just like etan’s bubbie used to make (…and still does!). lastly, we were offered a taste of the homemade carrot cake jam made fresh daily by a couple of the gals at tasi. i’ve been converted… i truthfully never thought that a carrot cake could make such a delectable jam! sweet, cool and refreshing; this jam is hands down amazing on their fresh baked breads. win!!! they are open ‘till 5pm daily and the lunch and ‘linner’ menus look ridiculously attractive to me. i can’t wait to come back and give it a go! if you are looking for a great meal with fantastic surroundings; tasi is the perfect spot.

my friend and i split an order of the cinnamon french toast and biscuits with sausage gravy. it was pure heaven. the challah bread they use for the french toast is so good. the biscuits were fluffy and flavorful. the sausage gravy has just the right amount of slightly spicy sausage and a perfect consistency. this was love at first taste.
