me encanta!. ok, i know that this is not my first trip or review, but i continue to fall in love with their food. yesterday, i had one of their sopes for the first time. it was an awesome dish and will be in my rotation for sure.
btw: their pastor in any fashion is still the best that i have had, it's not too sweet but with just enough spice to balance it out. muy bien provecho!

update to previous review..... went back for dinner last night and ordered more pastor tacos, which were wonderful again, and then ventured off the menu a bit for a chorizo burrito. it was amazing. the standard burrito filling with rice, beans, etc. however, the chorizo tasted fresh, homemade, and filled with spices. i kept tasting the wonderful warmth of cinnamon and paprika. it is highly recommended......and the red salsa was much better this time!

best mexican food i have had in oregon..... coming from socal, where i lived for the first 23 years of my life, i have grown accustomed to authentic mexican food. i love it and joke that my heritage may be irish but my stomach is mexican. taqueria 7 estrellas is the best and most authentic mexican food i have had in portland metro.
i ordered 6 tacos (pastor, pollo, carne asada, lengua, birra, and picadillo) and only paid $9 ($10 with tip). they were all very good, but the lengua was a bit tougher than i would have expected but the pastor was awesome. the carne asada, which is typically a good test of a mexican joint, was a bit over done, but the pollo was tremendous. they have red and green salsas, which i am pretty sure are chile de arbol and tomatillo based. the red salsa was too strongly flavored of charred chiles, but the green was quite nice and tangy.
overall, i will be going back and feel confident that the food will be good.
