tajima has been my go to spot for a few years now. i'm thankful for the friends that introduced me to this place. i don't quite remember m first experience here though. every time i crave something japanese that isn't sushi, this place is first on the list.
from orders of beef bowls, minchi katsu, karage, rice balls, or grilled mackerel, i have never been let down. the food is always consistent, served with the quickness, and fresh! they have happy hour which is one of my recent discoveries, the menu has some good items like takoyaki, karage, and flavored edemame. alcohol is 50% if i remember correctly. it's from 6-7 pm on weekdays.
during the weekend (friday and saturday night) they are open late, as in til 2 am late. this spot is a good substitute for your late night mexican food cravings. specially after being inebriated for a few hours.
place does get crowded during lunch and dinner hours. it's quite small and you usually have to write your name down on a waiting list. the longest we've waited was 15-20 minutes, so it isn't that bad. parking is limited since this place shares the lot with 4 other small asian restaurants.
