came here after receiving a xmas gift voucher. the salmon nigiri was delicious and had a good portion of salmon. the karaage chicken was nice as was the salmon for a main. didn’t realise it wouldn’t come with anything apart from a few lotus root chips. should’ve ordered more sushi instead! my partner wagyu steak was overcooked and not the medium rare stated in the menu. the calamari was also bit overcooked so more chewy that it should have been.

friendly and tidy restaurant. their sushi was tasty and fresh. i enjoyed it! especially the spicy tuna one! will come back for another sushi lunch in the future. but i won't recommend the pan fried noodles which is not as good as the sushi.

yum!!!! sushi ninja was beautiful and the presentation was incredible, their gyozas are the best i've ever had & it's decor is just as awesome as their staff 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

we had our dinner here.

we had curry chicken nabe (hot pot or steamboat) set, teriyaki chicken with miso and rice, teppan yaki soba, 5 pieces sushi and 15 pieces sashimi.
we loved every dish that we ordered. the food was so yummy and fresh!

can't wait to go back again!
don't miss visiting sushi ninja when you next visit new plymouth!

just got some sushi for lunch here. food seemed fresh and you could tell it hadn't been sitting around for days. music is a bit
bogan but all in all a nice wee joint!

i like sushi ninja, but their use of mayo is over the top for me. it makes everything too sweet. prefer to eat in and then have the sashimi and have had some lovely lunches and dinners here. they are a well organised group and even have a mobile lunch van that delivers to business'

wonderful japanese cuisine... gluten free too. chef specially made on request a gluten free tempura dish that was very successful. the saki was delicious as well. we are definitely regular customers.

first time visited.staff made us welcome the minute we entered. explained how to go about ordering and what the food was, leaving it up to us.will definitely go back, and try different food. will spread the word.

really like sushi here. lotsa choices to choose from. service was great :). had salmon skin sushi and also bento. yum..

this is the best place in new-plymouth actually new -zealand for a meal & service, and they just make you feel so welcomed. well done guys and gals. we have just done a big trip from northland to southland and nothing compares.

had a fab meal at sushi ninja last night!

i was so super impressed with the warm attentive service we received from a handsome young man that far exceeded any expectation!

the food was fantastic and every dish was exceptional =)

our meal was suburb. so good in fact we are going back again tonight. everything was fresh. service was great. flavours clean and perfect. nourishing fast wonderful food. recommend this place highly.

love love love love i would eat here all the time if i could i had a bad first experience (not here) putting me off japanese food but sushi ninja has shown me how amazing it can be after trying a couple of dishes i wanted to try them all, and try there sushi making classes ull be a ninja in no time :)

update - updated my first review to excellent. the owner took the time to contact me and address my concerns.
i think this is fabulous customer service, and the vegetarian issue is going to be fixed, so i will happily be returning.

not enough vegetarian options for my taste - most of the items seemed to contain meat, and the only vegetarian options seemed to be the meat options but without meat - no specific vegetarian creations, if that makes sense.
the only decent vegetarian options said "may contain fish stock" and i just couldn't take that risk.

sushi ninja is supreme! i absolutely adore them and feel so honored to be able to have something here that tastes so good. my favourite sushi combo, the super teriyaki sushi pack, is so delicious with the mayo! don't get me started on that mayo. god's gift i swear! leaving town for a few weeks, i went looking for sushi shops and no surprises here......they didn't stack up one measly bit so i didn't buy any! new plymouth has struck gold with this place. authentic and welcoming and superb on the price i wouldn't go anywhere else. i've been coming back so often, those loyalty cards are getting a thrashing!
