sumptuous at sunup

typical "bar food" on a somewhat limited menu. not too bad especially if you are more interested in the beverages. a plethora of brews to please most palates brewed on site and quite fresh. a nice patio area if you can stand some traffic noise on a busy street.

perfect example of an independent brewpub. thirteen years in business as a craft brewer is a testament to the quality of this establishment. every sample i tried was spot on. i ended up drinking their trooper ipa and cask conditioned ipa (with citra hops). very drinkable and quite memorable. add in their baja tacos, personable bartenders, and nice comfortable decor/atmosphere and you have a worthwhile destination for the craft beer aficionado.

the homemade bruschetta caught my eye, however. it was a bit strong on the garlic and not very well done. outside of the typical burgers, sandwiches and wraps, they do feature some interesting entrees. i ordered the special – shrimp fajitas. it came with one giant flour tortilla which confused me, but overall it wasn’t bad.

great german heffe and oatmeal stout but the amber ale tasted like stinky feet. the burger my wife had was mediocre and my shepherds pie wasn't great either.

sun up is my home away from home. the beer is awesome and the buffalo sloppy joe with a side of cole slaw is comfort food at it's best. don't miss the taco tuesday special. pedro's enchiladas are my favorite.

great beer average food. we were there on a wednesday and saw no mexican food or pizza on the standard menu, so go for the beer and leave to have dinner else where.

very nice evening. i went with my sister-in-law and nephew on a viist. i asked the locals at the hotel where they would go and recommended this place. the vanilla stout draft was great. fish and chips were well cooked and the sweet potato fries were crispy and well seasoned. my nephew had a kobe burger and inhaled it - must have been good!! would go back in a heart beat. the service was great.
