best eatery in asheville!. sunny point is my absolute favorite. love the outside venue. sooo asheville! food is fresh, local, high quality. menu satisfies meat eaters and vegetarians alike. breakfast, lunch or dinner. breads and baked goods off the chart. everything made with love. if you are looking for a creative and healthy place to eat ( with a hint of naughty delight) this is the place.

i don't give perfect 5.0 ratings very often. this place is the bomb! a wait is normal so be prepared for 30-60min but they have a text msg system to notify you when table ready and a beautiful tree covered stone patio for waiting with self service coffee. they even have sidewalk chalk for the kids. i am a home roaster coffee snob and give this place a seal of approval with their single-origin guatemala coffee. the service was impeccable once we were seated. their two signature breakfast dishes are the shrimp & grits and the huevos rancheros, so we ordered both. we are from savannah georgia where people are serious about their shrimp and grits. these were on par with the best in savannah, with an inviting twist...topped with thick cut bacon pieces!!! the sauce was a little smokey with some spice, but i wouldn't call it "spicy". the huevos rancheros came on a bed of black bean cake with tortilla chips instead of tortillas. very delicious. they offer adult drinks, including big mimosas and variants of mimosas. we enjoyed a strawberry rhubarb mimosa which was tart and not too sweet. our neighboring table ordered a bloody mary that looked amazing, topped with many veges including okra and bacon. they ranted and raved about it. the service was spectacular. very attentive and ensured we were taken care of.  amended: as we left, they had live musicians playing on the patio for the waiting guests.  it is unheard of!  the wait time is part of the overall grand experience.

best breakfast... ever!?!. this place was amazing! get there before it opens to get in line, but it is worth the wait!! they have a nice patio with coffee available while you wait. indoor and outdoor seating. the staff are super friendly, and the food was phenomenal. i want to move to asheville just so i can eat breakfast here. we tried the vegetarian huevos rancheros and the breakfast sandwich- both so good! and so much food, we ate leftovers twice from what we took home with us. do yourself a favor and go here immediately!

i love this restaurant! it is very family friendly, and with two kids that's important. they have a little garden in back that you can walk around in, with some area for the kids to play in. the food is always delicious, and local. i really enjoyed our visit here and would recommend it to anyone who is considering eating here. although, there is a bit of a wait sometimes-make sure you up before their busy hours.

fantastic breakfast and service
would go back anytime
very reasonable prices also

would just ask the management to switch to ketchup without hfcs. everything else there is homemade and/or organic and then they've got hf corn syrup ketchup. even heinz makes an organic alternative now. only thing i'd change there.

the day we went to biltmore estate, we ate a large breakfast to get us through to dinner, but after our visit, we were hungry and needed a snack before dinner. the crackers in the car weren't satisfying enough. we decided to stop at sunny point cafe. it's a cute little place. we got there around 3 pm and were seated right away. we ordered iced teas and 2 appetizers to share:

ate early dinner here tonight -had shrimp and grits as my server richard suggested. it was very flavorful, but could have used a couple more shrimp and bacon. the tomatoes and bacon were great in it. it's something of a spicy cheese soup. i may be back and do recommend. for $15 plus drink it was not great value and not very filling. there is comparable food and better value to be had in ashvl. 3.8 stars.

my friend an i decided to try sunny point after looking at the menu and reading all the great reviews on line. we arrived a little after 11am. the small parking lot was full so we had to park down the street. we checked in with the hostess and was told there was a 45 minute wait. we had a seat in there lovely shaded stone garden and helped ourselves to a cup of coffee. after seeing several people with bloody mary’s we decided to split one. it was fantastic! the 45 minutes went by quickly and we were seated in the patio. we had already looked over the menu so we ordered when our server came over. i got an iced tea and sally had coffee. for my breakfast i chose the carrot cake pancakes with a side of bacon. the pancakes were delicious and served with cinnamon butter and warm syrup. the thick cut maple peppercorn bacon was the best bacon i have had at a restaurant. sally's avocado toast had a fried egg and chopped bacon on it and was served with a side of fried potatoes. we left full and happy.

this place is truly special. i’ve only been here twice because it’s always so crowded. it’s hard the mess up breakfast food but maybe even harder to make it stand out.

my favorite of all places to breakfast...the garden, the staff & the food (okay let's be real, the bacon) make this the rarest of places. i've driven to asheville from atlanta on a rainy day just to have a breakfast sandwich here.

passing through and chose this place based on the 4.9 zomato's rating. delicious and a great atmosphere! a great pick!! had the meatloaf with red wine sauce. amazing! waiter was friendly and knowledgable. bought their cookbook too! the neighborhood in general was funky-eclectic. i'd make a point of driving through asheville just to eat here and visit the west end.
