very good salad bar, great made to order pizza and very friendly staff. great local restaurant stop. we were traveling through and we always prefer local instead of chain. next time you are close to kc and you ask yourself "where's great pizza?!" there's waldo!!!

the very thin crust pizza is not everyone's favorite, but i thought the one i had at waldo pizza in lee's summit was outstanding. the fresh ingredients and toppings were a definitely plus with the taste of the pizza. the young waiter's service was a little confusing and he was very neutral in his demeanor, but that didn't take anything away from the spot-hitting pizza. after years of searching for a good pizza in kansas city, waldo pizza has become my favorite pizza in the area.

i'd eat frozen pizza over waldo. ordered carry out pizza and wings. estimated time 20-25 minutes for pick up. arrived in 20. pizza and wings were done sitting up on a shelf. when shown the finished product, i asked how i could know the difference between the italian wings and buffalo. the barback replied with, "good question". he was puzzled and stated that the buffalo should have sauce. he offered to grab me a side and i accepted. upon return, i asked if the buffalo sauce is good on the italian since i couldn't tell the difference. he said no, that wouldn't be good so he'd have a kitchen worker separate them. he came back with the same styrofoam container with a couple of wings w/o sauce and the others with sauce squirted over the top. not withholding my irritation at this point, i questioned why, if the sauce isn't good on both, he would keep them in the same container. he offered another container... in turn, i requested a refund on the wings. when i got my "14 inch st. louis crispy crust waldo combo" home, which is less than 5 minutes away, it was a soggy, slimy-disgusting mess. the toppings plopped off of the pizza as i picked up a slice. the crust was limp and had a wet cardboard consistency. i paid $25 for the worst pizza and carry-out experience i've ever had.

horribly ran establishment. the pizza is the only good thing about this place. i ordered a pizza for carryout and arrived about 10 mins before it was ready. i walked in and sat down at their small bar next to a couple other people. i sat there for litterally12-15 minutes and not a single employee acknowledge myself or the other couple sitting next to me the entire time i was there. i feel like i could have literally walked behind the bar and made my own drink i was so ignored and no one would have said a word. while i'm sitting, waiting and wishing for a drink, my pizza finally comes out and is placed under their warmer next to the door by the bar. well, i sat there for another 3-5 minutes until i decided enough was enough. i went over there checked it (to make sure it was mine), grabbed the pizza my self and walked up to some kid working there with my credit card. from a consumer/customer standpoint, this experience was absolutely ridiculous. honestly, i should be getting paid for doing your employees job for them. when i told them i wanted to get a drink when i first walked in 10-15 mins ago the kid just said, "okay." that was it... i'm 25 and this was literally one of the worst experiences i have ever had at a restaurant.

great food - horrible customer service. the pizza is amazing, but everything else sucks. i have tried four times and every time they have failed. from late delivery to losing a telephone delivery order to being double charged. i am yet to try this restaurant without being handed one of their standard "sorry - 20% off" coupons. this location needs some serious restructure, which really stinks because the pizza is great when it is correct.

what’s cool about waldo pizza, other than the pizza pan lighting fixtures, friendly servers, full bar, and delicious pizza, is that it just has what must be called “quirks.” for instance, you just don’t see salad bars hardly at all anymore, and waldo’s remains in place. it’s a small one, but everything is very fresh with some different flavors. for instance, there’s his mom’s pickled beet salad, a rice salad, pasta salad, and really, all the fixins you need. they make all their own salad dressings but one (the fat free honey dijon) and they are well known for their garlic ranch dressing – and people seem very happy to pour that one on, eliminating the healthiness of the entire salad bar.

worst meal i ever had anywhere. i just had possibly the worst meal of my life. i ordered a simple pasta dish. bowtie w/ garlic and olive oil, spinach and tomato. to start there was an $8 delivery charge. the pasta was over cooked, drowning in oil, no parm cheese as requested, the container was a pool of oil and spilling out all over the place. the caesar salad that also was drowning n dressing and stale croutons. horrible horrible horrible!

shocked. for the 7th year our group of employees partronized the waldo pizza in lees summit. it seemed as though it was a good experience for all and we enjoyed pizza and comraderie to celebrate the christmas season. the employees and staff seemed thrilled to have us join them (large bill and we were more than gracious tippers $200). then, 3 weeks after our visit the restaurant hand delivers a letter to our place of employment claiming we were disruptive and that should we want to host a party of that size again, we would be expected to pay a rental fee and that no "teacher discount" would be given. mind you the manager came in to check w/ us more than one time and not once were we asked to be quiet etc. nor were we told that unfortunately for our large group the discount could not be used (we would have gladly accepted that had it been discussed!). not a way to run a business!!!!

my first gluten-free meal out after my doctor recommended i eliminate gluten was at waldo pizza. that was four years ago, so they were a bit ahead of the curve. when it was tricky to find a gluten-free meal out or a restaurant with staff who knew what that meant, waldo pizza had it figured out already.

great pizza. my family and i were visiting kc and i found this place on here and decided to give it a try. it did not disappoint. i created my own pizza on hand tossed crust with pesto sauce, eggplant, onions and mushrooms and it was great. it seemed like the eggplant was roasted first, which was nice. my mom created her own pizza with the st. louis crust, chicken and bbq sauce. she enjoyed it, but my dad thought it was just ok and the crust was very thin, not really my style. my dad loved his sandwich, i don't remember what kind it was, probably the italian sausage.

the trivia pursuit cards on the table were nice to have because we did have a wait a while, but it was packed on a friday night, so that is understandable. the food came out nice and hot, so it was a good experience.

great pizza. this great local pizza gem is fantastic. good service, great salad and terrific pizza. the owners are awesome and are community minded. there are plenty of great deals, and coupons to make the pizza almost cheap.
i love this pizza place. it is usually packed because it is excellent. this place is doing something right!!

pretty good pizza. i stopped in sort of on a whim today, i was out shopping and decided to try to find this place and order a couple of pizzas to go. i happen to carry an insulated pizza delivery bag with me just in case i have a jones for a pizza. it was a long drive home, and the smell from the pizzas was killing me. when i got home, the pizzas were still hot, my wife and i tried a couple slices, and she pronounced it as "damn good". i would have to echo that thought.

love waldo. this is not like those chain food places. the pizza is always good, the salad bar is excellent, and the place is always busy. many restaurants have slow nights, but not this one. it's busy because its good. most restaurants would kill to have the business that waldo has. sometimes there is a line for a table!
this place is first class all the way. i love the combo, and the 16 inch extra large sizes.
the owners are at the restaurant every day making sure things go well. their dedication may be why the place has such great service and food.

great choice. pizza is a very subjective food. that said, waldo pizza is great. the food is delicious and they have a great beer selection.

try the lunch buffet first. it gives you a good idea what you should order the next time you go back (and you will go back)!
