a couple of weeks ago we were invited to try out suikerbossie's legendary sunday buffet, and it was goooood. we started with excellent butternut soup, served in little glass teacups. then we moved onto the buffet: from the salads, to the carvery, to the epic dessert table (the passion fruit soufflé is perfection), it was a truly wonderful way to spend a lazy sunday. with suikerbossie's own wine (delish, by the way!) to keep us company, we were there long enough to watch them set up for dinner. the view is gorgeous, the owners have been part of the business for decades and you really do feel like you're sitting in an old friend's very big, rather fancy dining room. not just a spot for a wedding - go to suikerbossie anytime for a great meal!

i came here for my 21st birthday back in april the view was incrediable that you can see the sea on a nice day. we had the sunday buffet of all you can eat and also desserts was delicious. the malva pudding was my favourite the gamon was delicious and the veggies as well the staff were friendly and polite

last night frontosa held another successful marketing event, this time at suikerbossie restaurant in hout bay.  this isn’t a brag post, but a recognition of the outstanding service we received. we honestly cannot say thank you enough to dave, hans and the staff at suikerbossie.  they were truly amazing. normally the marketing girls are running around putting the final touches on the venue before the first clients walk in, some of whom arrive an hour early.  yesterday was completely different.  they walked in at 1:30 to a completely set up and layout venue, almost everything was done for them, they just had to add a couple of décor details which they had brought with them and set up the demo items.  to their shock they were welcomed into the venue which had roaring fire going on cold “winters” cape town day, but no only that there was soup waiting for them too.  the staff at suikerbossie unloaded the goods from the car since it was raining and they were told to relax and dry up. the evening went without a hitch, and the feedback from the clients regarding the venue and food was outstanding, some of whom are still sending thank you this morning. so basically if anybody is looking for 1) a venue to hire 2) view to die for even on a wet day/evening 3) stress free event/wedding /birthday party or just amazing food and service.  please go and support suikerbossie restaurant.  to sum this all up.  outstanding venue and service.  we will definitely be back soon

a picturesque delight!
we decided to take a drive and popped into suikerbossie for a late breakfast and received a warm welcome from the manager himself who seated us.

the service was exceptional, the food was artfully presented and delicious. what a gorgeous location and venue, a must for any time of day! we will definitely be back.

not only does this place have an breathtaking view , the atmosphere, food and service is outstanding . was here for a function and with the sun setting it created the perfect night out

this is a wedding venue, that's sometimes open as a restaurant. be very sure to check in advance. because i used to live nearby and often tried to go. i'd say your chances of it being open on a weekend and not closed for a private function are about 1 in 10. the couple of times it was open though it was great.

this is a lovely restaurant with friendly staff, great location with a spectacular view and food that will keep you coming back for more!

i have visited this restaurant on two occasions, once for my wedding and the second time was a year later for a sunday lunch for our anniversary.

on both occasions we were served a buffet. let me just say that this is one of the best buffets i have ever had! a great selection of meat and salads all cooked to perfection!

be sure to book of you might be disappointed by there being no tables available.

attended and hosted an event here. absolutely amazing. the view as well as the garden patio was amazing. the staff and management were extremely professional and attentive. catering for everyone including those who needed halaal food. would definitely recommend it for an event. only problem had was the fact that if you're wearing heels the grass area is an extreme no go. sinking is definitely the worst but all the best photos are on the grass unfortunately.

attended a wedding at this establishment. the food was really good and they are very accommodating when it comes to dietary requirement. it was a muslim wedding so the food was fully halaal, i was a bit apprehensive about the food as this establishment is not halaal in their usual capacity but i was pleasantly surprised. coupled with the amazing scenery it was idyllic.

a really good friend of mine held her wedding reception at suikerbossie- aaaaaamazing venue! it's so incredibly beautiful. the buffet food was delicious - especially the roast chicken and salad bar options. throughly enjoyed it and will definitely return!

i may be a bit biased since i got married here but 4 years on and people still remember the food! breathtaking venue, amazing staff and service and really great food!

shakespeare would have been at a loss for words.
probably one of the most breath taking venues (weddings,conferences,etc) in the whole of cape town.
to encapsulate what this venue has to offer one would have to bring out the old oxford dictionary to find more appropriate words to describe the pure beauty & serenity of this amazing place.one feels the need to address and write a review in high english to do any justice.william shakespeare would have been at a loss for words and picasso would have wept. (get the idea)
situated at the top of suikerbossie drive in hout bay (many a argus cyclist has passed this venue,on their final phase homeward bound),the views are spectacular.
just peruse their photo gallery and you will be as overwhelmed as was i.
a remarkable venue with owners, staff and food that do the place proud.

an afternoon with the girls.

we attended the sunday lunch which suikerbossie has each week. the setting was absolutely breath taking and perfect for a family gathering or even a girls lunch.

the buffet is indescribable. the variety of food will make you want to come back every week to get through all the different dishes. (so worth the weekly trip)

we started off with a lovely butternut soup which paired perfectly with my now favorite sauvignon blanc, made by suikerbossie themselves.

we then moved to the buffet starters. yes a second round. bread, salads, pesto's and pastes. every bit of perfection.

the main meal represents south africa in its most beautiful form. from roast beef, pork, lamb and chicken and a variety of seasoned veggies.

desserts. well. chocolate is a girls best friend. their chocolate mousse made the experience perfect but there were too many delicate desserts to get through.

a must try... more than once.

i attended the sunday buffet for a friend's birthday gathering. i was not disappointed in anything. the atmosphere was amazing. the setup of the buffet was wonderful. was nice taking your time working through the starters all the way to the deserts. the staff knew where everyone was sitting and we were greeted with a nice soup while we waited for the rest of the part to arrive. you cant eat a full buffet and not admire the breathtaking views outside as you go for a bit of a walk.

absolutely breath taking view and food. honestly one of the prime spots in cape town situated between llandudno and hout bay. the food is magical!
