this is a tough one for me. much like seasons 52 and other similar establishments, i really like the idea of sugarbacon. local and creative cuisine in a cool atmosphere. this place has the atmosphere - i love the bar area, the decor and feel of the restaurant is awesome. the waitstaff is outstanding. where i personally struggle is with thefoodchoices. i felt like i had to settle on what i didn't want the least, as opposed to deciding on what i wanted the most. it's a limited menu of somewhat eclectic items, which becomes more limited if burgers and sandwiches are not considered dinner items - which for me is the case.
so i went for the wagyu filet special. the meat quality was great, but was way over spiced. it was so salty i'm pretty certain my blood pressure was spiking. the sides were fine.
so it's like this. i might go back because i like the restaurant. i'll struggle through thefoodselection. i'll leave happy with the experience but unsatisfied with the meal.
does that make sense? i can't decide.
