this little mom and pop peruvian restaurant is quant with accents of local peruvian art and photos of peru. prices are reasonable and the food is amazing. mi rancho is the best way to describe su pollo, a taste of south america like no other. the chicken is the star of the menu, slowly cooked on a rotating spit with yucca on the side. you can order it by the whole ($14.25), half ($8.10) or quarter ($6.15), served with house salad and your choice of french fries, yucca or rice. this moist flavorful chicken with yucca (crisp external and soft center) takes me rightbackto peru. the house salad is a nice complement to the dish, small and simple with a great taste. we also got choclo ($3.75) to go with the meal, cooked till tender and served with cheese; i can almost hear the train and the ladies and children along the tracks trying to sell goods and fresh choclo. my husband got the anticuchos ($8.90) heart beef marinated and served with fried potato. the flavor is spot on; the melt in your mouth anticuchos with a complementing touch of onion and pepper take himbackto his first taste of this dish in peru. inca cola, the perfect drink to have along with these dishes, the unique flavor of inca cola (people either love this drink or don’t) makes us feel like we are rightbackat my grandmas home, eating the most amazing peruvian cuisine.
su pollo also has; bottled beverages, papas rellena, milanesa de pollo, lomo saltado, peruvian style tamales, ceviche, jalea and much more. they also have a few desserts like alfajores de dulce de leche, tira misu and tres leches.
