steve's hot dogs on the hill

maybe i expected too much because i'd heard such great things about this place... super anticlimactic. not good at all honestly, my girlfriend ate mine. super disappointed.

delicious 100% beef nathans hot dogs (and locally made andouille, chorizo and salsiccia sausages and g&w bratwursts) with wildly inventive and scrumptious toppings! try the new waffle dog with sriracha maple, it’s awesome! the chili-cheese dog, gorilla mac & cheese dog are highly recommended. choose the daily special or any one of the other wonderful choices. nice selection of locally made beverages, too.

looking forward to the 20 november 2017 launch of the new hickory smoke burger! yummy yummy yummy!

food here is just ok. the different hot dogs are very creative and i suppose it is worth a try. however, for me the quality just wasn't there.

brought my 9 y/o for lunch.  she was dubious, but between the ski cherry citrus pop and the gorilla mac & cheese dog she was on board.  i had the micho  with (among other things) has jalapeños and avocado atop its chorizo dog yummy-ness.

i subbed the chip for potato salad (slight up charge) and was rewarded with a tangy, not crunchy treat. 

seating outside and in.  families, locals, lunch breakers. all made an appearance while we ate lunch.  steve's workers are friendly and appear to really enjoy their job.  we left full and happy.

one of the best dogs out there. we go for lunch and love it. it has the beef to back it's bull that's for sure. a lot of hot dogs in a lot of places try really hard to be unique. steve's is one of a kind.

although i am not a huge fan of hotdogs, steve's hotdogs can bring out the playful side of anyone. i have eaten the molotov dog & the chilli cheese dog. the molotov dog had a little to many jalapenos for my liking, but its no big deal to pick them off. the chilli cheese dog was basic (could have been spicier to my liking), but still tasty. although already low cost, they give out daily dollar off words on their social media which tack a little more off. always a fun place to go!

i’ll admit i was a little nervous about visiting steve’s hot dogs on the hill .  music by steve ewing and the urge whisk me back to my youth.  i have seen the urge perform countless times on many different stages and have fond memories (for those i can still remember).  my nervousness stemmed from having my bubble burst about a st. louis icon.  steve ewing has always been a kind person that takes his time out to talk to anyone.  i always appreciated seeing how much he enjoyed performing no matter the crowd size.  enough about this bromance i have for steve ewing; let’s talk about some hot dogs. steve’s hot dogs on the hill is a small shop with limited seating.  steve’s features nathan’s hot dogs, and clearly the focus is on hot dogs with a variety of different topping combinations.  but what exactly makes a good hot dog?  for me, it’s all about having that “snap” when you bite into the dog. during my first visit i tried two different dogs, the gorilla mac & cheese dog and steve’s famou

excellent!. fantastic and creative hog dogs. its difficult to explain how satisfying these dogs were so its best you just go and try them yourself.

good dog. i had the mac-n-cheese dog. the first bite was dog alone and it is a dog that can stand alone........if it had legs. every bite after that was better and better.. husband had the chili dog and liked it .. he is a man of few words.

not your every day dog. we hit steve's every time we are in the st louis area. service is always great! my favs so far are the backyard bbq and gorilla mac and cheese. my girlfriend is partial to the jamaican and hawaiian dogs. looking forward to trying the smoked pit beef the next time we are in town. so many options we've never had the same dog twice!

filling comfort food. as a first timer here i had great service from the cashier - and everyone was friendly. a+ in my book simply for that. had to try the gorilla mac and cheese dog and i was pretty satisfied. it was nothing mind blowing, but the the mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. they have a lot of interesting options so i will definitely be back to try other "dogs."

favorite place around. i have been ordering steve's once a week for the past month or so and have yet to be disappointed. good value and great selection.

deeelish!. we had the mac n cheese dog and the pit beef sandwich, both were excellent. can't wait to go back to try some of the other options.

the dogs are good. the people are nice. the prices are reasonable. i've been here a few times in the last year and its consistently delicious each time.
