great burger!. we saw the steer and wheel at tanger outlets. wanting to try some different foods, we (my husband and i) decided to split a burger so that we could also try other trucks. well, we ended up going back for another burger because it was phenomenal! it was so tasty and juicy. it was probably a little more than you'd pay for a regular burger but well worth the price! we had no problems buying another one because the first one was so great! if you are a burger lover, you'll love theirs!

i don't like giving bad reviews and there's always an opportunity to redeem yourself but the ability to make a good first impression was lost on me. i had a burger and fries and to their credit, the fries were remarkable. crispy, well salted, delish! the burger left a lot to be desired. the toppings were fine the bun was good the problem was the meat quality of the patty felt like frozen giant eagle brand!!! zero flavor, horrible texture, just awful. i could comment on the price, i won't. the whole issue revolves around the fact that u promote yourself as a gourmet burger provider and u failed miserably. i can understand if the french fries may have been bad or the bun or toppings were no good but that wasn't the case. the meat, which is your "bread and butter" ruined the wonderful dining experience. it'll be hard to give this food truck a second chance...

it seems that awesome new food trucks just keep popping up in pittsburgh! one relative newcomer that began roaming about pittsburgh earlier this year is the steer & wheel, serving up high quality burgers made from freshly truck-ground, all-natural local beef and toasted buns sourced from a local bakery. i have enjoyed the steer & wheel's burgers on several occasions, some of which i share below, and i can vouch that the burgers are always juicy, flavorful, and with toppings that serve as a great complement. the menu changes often with the occasional special thrown in. also, i love word plays, so the steer & wheel gets an extra point in my book for its clever name. :-) truly, this is some of the best burgers in town—and we have a lot of excellent burgers here in pittsburgh. i only wish that i can have one anytime i wanted! curly's truffle truffle mayo, horseradish cheddar, tomato, and red onion, on brioche bacon squared balsamic bacon jam, chive cheddar, lettuce, tomat

went to coffee buddha looking for the pgh taco truck. instead the steer and wheel burger truck was there. min ordered the bacon cheddar burger ($9, wasn't happy) waiting about 10
minutes (gave me a chance to buy a soda from the cute girl inside the coffee shop) and then took the burger plus fries ( another $3) back to the office. this burger was awesome. even the fries were great ( shared between three others at the office). really enjoyed it. we'll worth $9. versus $5 at other fast food places, i would go here 100% of the time.

another competitor in the burgeoning pittsburgh food truck scene. the steer & wheel specializes in gourmet hamburgers and i was looking forward to trying it out.  the steer & wheel was with the pittsburgh taco truck in the parking lot of the coffee buddha on rt 19 in the north hills. after placing my order, it took about 8 minutes to receive the food. the fat tuesday burger $7.00  you will notice i put a mcdonalds double cheeseburger in my picture for size comparison purposes. there is nothing i wont do for the reader of pittsburgh eats. for the visually and mentally challenged pittsburgh eats readers, the mcdonalds burger is on the left.  the fat tuesday burger was about a 1/3 pound locally raised, organinc, no antibiotic, no hormone, beef patty, with pepper jack cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and remoulade sauce. all on a brioche bun baked at mediterra bakery. the burger itself was also cooked with blackened seasoning to give it an even more pronounced cajun flavor. the bu
