square burger

excellent lunch. we had not been in this restaurant in a few months and we dropped by for lunch. we entered early at 11:30am and that was a good thing since by the time we ate and got ready to leave the place was completely full of customers. the seating was prompt and courteous. the waiter was very good and explained the various entrees that were available. my spouse decided to order the hamburger, medium well and it came out exactly as ordered. i ordered the grilled pork chop which was excellent. it was served with a garden medley of small vegetables along with red potatoes. the meal was hot with heat and served on a square plate. the iced tea was very good and the glass was kept filled. we had a very good lunch with an excellent dining experience. while we did not order a beer, there is a long line of beer taps behind the long bar and many were ordering. there appeared to be a very wide choice. this restaurant is decorated in a modern style with lots of chrome, glass and white colors and we found that most interesting. the rest rooms were spotless. located right on the square in downtown mckinney, texas, forget about parking at the door. more than likely you will have to walk a couple of blocks to get to the restaurant after you find a parking space. well worth the “hike”.

overpriced. food is "meh". atmosphere is loud and unenjoyable. we will not go back again.

excellent food and service. i enjoyed my visit at square burger. the waitress was very friendly and knew the menu and the food was excellent. large portions. worth the money. nice atmosphere!

i can't believe other reviews say the service is slow. it is honestly one of the friendliest and best staff of any restaurant in downtown mckinney. i'd much rather pay a little more for a burger made with meat grown on a local farm (all meat comes from local yocal). for those people who think the burger tastes funny, they probably aren't used to tasting meat that's not pumped full of antibiotics and chemicals! the owner is has a real community focus (carries most of franconia's beer) and lauren the bartender is wonderful.

ok, i'm usually not a complainer but after i drop 30 bucks for 2 burgers and one side of fries i felt i needed to vent. burger was below average. i just can't believe people think its ok for sub par food to pay so much. c'mon mckinney, there is better food out there. we are paying for their fancy plates and cups of ketchup.

the cake shake is awesome! it's a must try

the service is horrible but the food is amazing. go on a day you are feeling very patient!

the joint was located inside franklin square which is a park between chinatown and the old city area of philadelphia. the cake shake was good. i can’t wait to come back this summer and pair a freshly made shake with a hot, melt in your mouth burger.

good food, slow service. i have dined at square burger several times, at different times of the day and week, and with big and small groups. the food is always good. really good. the service is just really slow. it takes a long time to get your food, get refills, to get your check and to get your check pciked back up. it seems like it is a combination of the kitchen and the servers. everything is just ran in slow motion. make sure you have some saved up dinner conversation as you will be there for a long time.

i have been in several times. burgers are juicy and flavorful. great combinations. also had the pan fried chicken and the deserts will blow your mind. tuna burger is also great. this is a burger joint run by chefs.

good burgers. ate at square burger today. light crown for a friday lunch. burger was excellent. came out medium rare as ordered. french fries were also very good. service good (ate at the bar). great beer selection and decent wine list. will be back!

love square burger. i celebrated my birthday at square burger this past sat. i was with a large group and we all had a wonderful time. the food was amazing, as usual!! ngoc's fritters are seriously, out of this world/off the charts, and that apple pie/caramel dessert-- wow!! hayden was awesome as our server and really took care of us and had such a great attitude! even though they were so busy all day, brandon still managed to arrange a wonderful night for all of us. craig's burgers are the best in town-- i particularly love the salmon burger! i will be going back again and again!!

delicious food and great atmosphere. square burger has it all-- great food, inviting atmosphere and friendly / professional wait staff. and the salmon burger-- 'wow', is all i can say! ngoc's desserts are delicious! kudo's to brandon, craig and ngoc (-: the 'burg' is definately my new 'go-to' place!

i devoured every bite. then the three of us fought over the last few crispy fries. definitely a winner.

sweet potato fries. best sweet potato fries ever! thin, crispy and loaded with flavor!

lamb burger. tried the lamb burger just about a year ago and it was good. went back for lunch this week and it was horrible. much smaller way too much on the double thick pita bread and only brought a half of bun for a much smaller burger than they served a year ago. the meat tasted like it wasn't fresh and just not the same good food from a year ago.

best burger in north texas. i can't remember how long ago it was i had a burger this good. the meat is the best both lamb and beef. the butcher shop is just around the corner and is farm to market meat. the name of the butcher shop is " local yocal" and is part of the reason these burger are soooo good. stop by square burger and then go buy some meat to do your own. great experience, great service and again the food is the best.
