noms. ok. so i haven't had the chance to try dantes yet, but overall, omaha lacks in pizza.

spin! has stepped it up a nice notch.orderingis a little awkward, but it was nice that someone came out to explain the menu for us. we tried the pizza/salad option and all three of us got different pizzas. we traded slices to try out each others pizzas.

the 3 minute oven they spent the money on was well worth it (and also the focal point of the restaurant). the open kitchen is always a nice touch.

ordering was quick and painless; service to the table was slow and mistaken. two of my friends items had been messed up (forgotten salad and beer).

pizza: the crust was done perfectly and the toppings were great. who knew potatoes and pancetta belonged on pizza? both the greek and ceasar salads were a great starter.

gelato: yes. i'll take more. all that needs to be said.

overall, i forgive them for the forgotten orders - lets face it, it happens.

definitely somewhere to try again, but i may just order it to go?

i read the other reviews before eating here, and i agree with a lot of them. pizzas, sandwiches and salads were all very flavorful. true, it was a touch pricey, but you won't find these ingredients at zio's. (and i love zio's) pancetta, goat cheese, fig, the list goes on. theorderingprocess is a bit awkward for first timers. there is a full menu that you have to look through before you are seated. we stood and decided what we wanted for a good ten minutes. if it had been busier, i would have felt like i was holding up a line. i just think that most people would feel more comfortable sitting first and then ordering.

they have a decent beer selection, and the gelato is delicious. the servers and cooks were all very nice as well. we will definitely be back to try some of the more daring specialty pizzas.

not as expected. when i heard there was a neopolitan pizza joint opening up nearby i was very excited. i actually studied the menu a little before it was open, just to see what it was gonna be like. im a huge fan of dantes pizza up in west omaha but being that i live in bellevue, its a good drive to go over there.

i was dissapointed to find out that you order before you sit, like lanskys or raggazis. im not a big fan of that kind of service, when i go out to dinner i want table service from the beginning. of course the cashier was courteous and let me know that they were full service after the order and handed my credit card back to me along with the receipt and a credit card "wallet" with a pen and a number to take to my table. that way i could tip the person who brings the food to the table.

the pizza was certainly not bad but it was like a fusion of neopolitan pizza and americanized.....just honestly dissapointed. i had hoped it would be better and was really dissapointed in the type of walk uporderingand just was underwhelmed by the pizza.

dont get me wrong, all of the employees were great and the food was certainly not bad. just not what i expected. the gelato did look deliscious, unfortunately we didnt have time to try it

a new spin on pizza. spin! neopolitan pizza has brought its giant pizza oven to the omaha metro, and seems to be bringing smiles to their customers. once you navigate theorderingprocess, that is.
this kansas city chain of casual pizzerias offers a confusing combo of self serve and full service. as soon as you walk in the door you are forced to decide what it is you want to eat, then you order your food at the counter, then select a table, and in a few moments your drink and food is delivered to you. the problem is that even if you know what you want to eat immediately, it is impossible for you to place your order until everyone ahead of you in the restaurant has already completed their order.
my lunch companions raved about their salads. and my tomato basil soup was quite good. and the two of us who ordered pizza really enjoyed our selections. the luncheon pizzas are about 8 inches in diameter, giving you 4 good size pieces. my bbq chicken and pineapple pizza was delicious, and my friend really liked her margharita pizza.
service is very friendly. prices at lunch hover around $10. you can order a regular sized pizza for just a bit more.
tap beer and wines are offered in addition to soft drinks. outdoor seating is offered, in addition to interior tables, booths and bar seating.
my only real complaint, besides with the goofyorderingprotocol, is with the noise level, which can get very loud inside, what with the metal ceiling and concrete floor. it is difficult to carry on a conversation if the restaurant is busy. and on two occasions the music being played was much too loud, especially given that we were there for a weekday lunch with coworkers. any hope of conducting a business lunch at spin! will go unrealized.
