first time here when visiting family on a quick trip from sydney. lunch was nice, waited a little while but no big deal. can't get over how expensive perth is for what you get. the same thing on the east coast would be half the price. service was nice though :)

not happy jan.. staff were great at breakfast this morning. the monday of the long weekend, the plus 10% sign glared at me from a note taped to the till. we ordered a juice, two coffees and two breakfast 'towers'. the stacks arrived after ten minutes or so and looked great. bacon, slices of camenbert, baby spinach leaves, caramalised onions and topped with a fried egg. all drizzled with balsamic glaze and stacked onto three slices of white bread.the bread was supposed to be toasted but had only had the briefest of meetings with a grill or toaster. it was bland in the extreme. the rest of the meal was luke warm, served on a cold plate we both struggled to get through the meal especially when it came to attacking the three thick slices of un-toasted dry bread.. we watched other food exiting the kitchen, it all looked great and there were plenty of customers many obvious regulars. the staff as i mentioned earlier were fabulous with willing smiles but for me my food was dreadful merely by the fact it was cold and plus $10% :)   there will be those that say "why didn't you complain ?"..
i never complain and never send food back, i'd rather walk away and not return.

the owner/worker here is an absolute obnoxious jerk, which serves terrible burnt coffee to match his below standard customer service. this place is a waste of time and money, would not recommend.

we stayed just up the road from the cafe on the weekend and notice they seemed busy so naturally eager to try. we went for lunch on a friday.really enjoyed the fish and chips, crunchy and fresh. we also had the chicken cesar salad and that too was fresh, well dressed and enjoyable. (the crutons were yummy)the service was very friendly and we would go back to this cafe for sure.

come here often for coffee and have had lunch on a few occasions. ordered lunch today - so disappointing! $21 squid and chips - 7 little pieces of squid and a small pile of chips! on enquiring we were informed that "that is a generous serve".
please don't rip me off and please don't insult me or my intelligence. considering this is our local and we will be spreading the word, i don't think that was clever.

went in on monday ordered 2 coffees and 2 breakfast rolls. coffee was served and we had drunk it before we got our rolls. we watched the cook put then in serving hatch and they just sat there. no of the waitresses bothered to collect them. it was only when i stood up that one of them noticed what i was looking at and brought them to our table. (no apology) guess what yea they were going cold. wife left most of her one mentioned it to waitress and she just shrugged her shoulders. surely the cook should have a bell or something to ring when food is ready. not happy about going back there again.

this morning we popped into spill the beans for a quick coffee. we were greeted with smiles on arrival and the counter staff were quick to take our order. i had an extra hot long mac whilst the american enjoyed a long mac and piece of carrot cake. when we ordered the waitress informed us that they had a coffee and cake special for $7.95! winning! the service was quick and friendly, the venue was perfectly located close to the beach and trail walks and the coffees were hot, strong and delicious. i simply had to try the cake so that i could review it for you :) that was delicious too, especially the cream cheese icing on top that had a slight lemon flavour. it was a busy little place and yet everything that came out of the kitchen looked nicely presented and equally delicious. we are very much looking forward to coming back here again soon to sample some of the items on the menu!

i have only been here once and it was for brecky, officially the worst brecky i've ever had, my spinach and feta omlette was so dry and had no flavour, it was so over cooked, although a few spinach leaves were found there was no feta to be seen or tasted. my dad had poached eggs, again yuk, rock hard yolks my pet hate! on happier note my coffee was awesome!

the restaurant at rockingham was terrible! i never thought anyone could possible make nachos inedible. for $18 you gets a handful of stale chips and a sauce that belongs on a quick pasta fix. the perrier sparkling water was nice.

nice coffee and cake. nice cafe with plenty of seating inside and out. prices are average but the coffee and cake special at $7.95 is a great deal. i enjoyed a slice of plum crumble pie and a good tasting coffee. there is a small playground about 100m away for those with small children. unfortunately the playground is not visible if dining in the cafe. breakfasts on nearby tables looked delicious. i would return to this cafe again.

bad afternoon. stopped off for the regular.
don't know if it was the young staff on duty, but it was awful.
two coffees, some cheesecake and a tiny tiny piece of carrot and walnut cake ..... $21.90 !
coffees were barely drinkable.
cheesecake tasted like soap.
carrot cake was dry, old and tasteless. this piece cost $8.95 !
i know i should have said something, but we locals just seem to accept it as the norm for mandurah.
this place used to be spot on.
what happened?

at last - a decent cafe in mandurah!. my husband and i have been going to mandurah every second sunday for a few years - taking my elderly father out for lunch. we have tried all range of places and prices - by the estuary and the ocean. spill the beans has been the best! they serve simple but fresh, tasty food - last sunday i enjoyed the calamari caesar salad and my father loved the prawn and avocado salad. we dine out in perth regularly and have always been amazed at the poor service and food quality in mandurah - particularly considering the location. we feel we have finally found a cafe worth returning to - in fact we've now been there four times and been happy on every occasion. great service and delightful food.

if only the gentleman behind the counter would act like he wants local business?? i've been 3 times now and every time his poor attitude towards customers is a sure sign do not go back again !! first time my iced mocha with cream, i thought off - yet to be htc cream yuk! he handled the situation poorly but the lady on coffee was very pleasant. 2nd time food was a disappointment and third was this sunday gone and again my partner and i with our child felt un welcome by his attitude towards everything facial, tone and body language. my meal was great but my daughters was like rubbery over microwaved pancakes and my hubby's very below average for $$$
up your game spill the beans as we will be telling our friends and family ... not worth the disappointment !
