spak brothers

the pizza from thisplacewas terrible. the dough was still raw on the top and had somewhat combined with the sauce and cheese to make a gelatinous slime. i walked in and ordered, waited while they cooked my order, and got the pizza straight out of the oven, so it hadn't sat around. i can ordinarily eat pizza regardless of the quality - hey, it's pizza - but this was inedible and i actually thought it might make me sick if i continued to eat it.

thisplaceis the bomb dot com. great food and nice people. only good vegan pizza i've ever had.

my go-to don't want to cook tonight place. love everything salads, wings, pizza, & sandwiches! friendly employees. they just need to increase help on weekend/ busy nights. waiting a long time on hold toplacean order, and even longer in line to pick up food. sometimes it's too much of a hassle and easier to cook myself! step it up spak brothers you have something great & are losing customers!

a tasty, solid, reasonably-priced pizza. i've started to go to spak brothers in garfield as tuesday is pizza night and my daughter does a martial arts class a few doors down. i've had a slice from them before and it was pretty solid and pretty cheap, so i bought one of their pies. good value - 11.00 for an 18" - fresh dough, good quality cheese and a tasty sauce (i hate the sweet sauces - this had a nice bite. if you buy 3 toppings, you will get a 4th free too. i liked it, it was similar to a nj style - relatively thin crust with a good chew. very good italian sausage too. i also bought a 6" italian hoagie too - meats from parma sausage made the difference and the bread had a good crust/chew. they have vegetarian/vegan options, but since i am neither - i could care less, but it's good to know. penn avenue is being torn up at this time and theplacehas weathered the storm of restricted traffic by placing spak bros. detour signs around garfield, which is clever, and i hope they can garner further success once the work is done at the end of the year.

i almost forgot - the leftover pizza is still tasty the next day too.

a good slice in a tough neighborhood. good crust/chew and good cheese. a nice find. only $2 for a slice.

great place. thisplaceis great! really like the pizza and wings. the vegetarian options are also good. just tried the seitan cheesesteak, excellent! i also love that they try to use locally sourced ingredients as much as possible.

i waited on hold for 10 minutes to order and when i ordered their prices where twice what was posted on their menu. thisplaceneed to update their online prices and have better service

surprisingly bad pizza. so many people rave about this pizza, i had to try it. it was just surprisingly ordinary. nothing special. i like every pizzaplacein squirrel hill better than this, except for the newplacewhere the bike shop and hardware store used to be. yes, spak bros. is that bad.

overcooked, brown cheese. dry dough.

it must be the vegans who give thisplacesuch high ratings.

...i was led to a small pizza joint in bloomfield called spak brothers pizza. after reading dozens of reviews online that said nothing but good things, i decided to take the dive. ive been burned before, but something about thisplaceseemed different. their menu was rather simple, but offered all the usual pizza shop items, wings, and toppings. they even give you a 4th topping free if you order 3 toppings. i was

spak brothers is a greatplaceto get vegan subs, vegan wings, and seitan salads. the vegan pizza is good the only down side is they charge u for vegan cheese as a topping. other than that this is a sure go for vegans and vegetarians.

best in the burgh. as a meat lover in love with a vegan, it's rather difficult to find a goodplacewhere we can both get something delicious (yet greasy) to eat. spaks is perfect. after moving to pittsburgh 4 years ago i had yet to find a pizzaplacethat made me think pittsburghers were capable of making anything but something on par to a tony's microwave pizza. once i went to spaks i never went back. the pizza is to die for and the vegan options make it a go-toplacefor everyone in my house. also, living in philly where cheesesteak is plentiful, i'd have to say spaks ranks up there as some of the best i've had. it's definitely got something for everyone, and awesome pinball machines to boot!

yummy vegan.. the only thing i've ever had here is the seitan cheese steak and it was delicious. fairly large portion for a nice price.
theplaceitself is quite small, there is limited seating, mostly along the walls with stools. so going in with a large crowd may not be a great idea.
if i lived closer, i'd go here much more often. :)

best darn-tootin pizza in the burgh. thisplaceis the best! it is an experience just to be in the building full of local art and a few arcade games. they value awesome team work and cook yummy pizza. their vegan pizza is great, and i've heard the meat sammies are the best. check thisplaceout and you will be hooked. like whoa.

fantastic pizza!. i think their pizza is really delicious! i just got a plain cheese, but everything to the thickness of the crust, to the great flavor of the sauce, to the perfect amount of delicious cheese! everyone has a different idea of 'best', but i think thisplacefalls under my definition. they also have really good toppings (that you can't find at other locales) that i can't wait to try... kalamata olives, portabella mushrooms... plus they seem to have a great selection of subs - i can't wait to try!
the only thing is that they don't deliver, so you have to pick up (only business delivery). they're actually not in bloomfield, but in garfield. so the location is not the most ideal. when i got there, there were a bunch of teenagers hanging outside - one of them even whistled and made a remark to me as i was walking in. theplaceseemed dingy and all i could think was i should have ordered from somewhere else. but i am so glad i didn't! thisplacehas really awesome food! there's only like 2 bar stools too, so it's not really aplacewhere you would sit and eat either.
so for a pick up and go pizza - it is really fantastic!!
