southside grill is an excellent place to relax! alicia takes wonderful care of us. mark makes the best tasting martinis. if you are looking for a carefree place to enjoy a relaxing evening of dining, southside grill is the place for you.

amazing food...amazing service. this is a quaint little place near lenox village that offers cuisine like what you'd find in a fine nyc restaurant. the martinis are superb and the bartender, mark is one of the coolest guys around. i give it my highest rating for a restaurant in nashville | you must visit to experience!

not very good..... it's not a good sign when you walk into a restaurant and don't see any other patrons....on a saturday night! granted we went a little early (6ish) but still. so we ordered some drinks which were very tasty. i ordered the mahi mahi on mac n cheese and my husband ordered some burger with a baked potato. my entree was very dry and did not have any sauce on the plate with it! no taste! my husband's entire plate, on the other hand, was soaked in butter and melted cheese. i did like the friendly staff and feel of the restaurant though--just tweak the menu.

i am shocked by the bad reviews for this place! my husband and i love visiting southside at least once a week. the food is very good and i personally recommend the gouda truffle oil burger, the filet bruschetta, the mediterranean app plate, any of the martinis, and jenny's desserts. the servers are friendly and always give us great service.. no matter how busy they may be. highly recommend this restaurant!

good find. pot luck on sunday because this place was on my phone close to christ church. the brunch menu contain great choices. i had the pistachio encrusted flounder and my wife had french toast. both were excellent dishes and at a good prices. it was sunday and the place was quiet and had choice of inside or outside. while it was sunny last weekend there was a little chill and we sat inside. very nice waitress. a good find.

much better options nearby. my wife and i visited south side grill for the first time this weekend and were greatly underwhelmed. first off, the place is too loud. i mean it was so loud, it was difficult for the two of us to carry on a conversation without raising our voices. entering the restaurant, there's no clear idea of where the hostess stand is. we stood at the door for 3-4 minutes before one of the bar patrons told us the stand was at the corner.

our service was good. i only wish our food would have been. we both ordered different items and they were both bland and lacked much flavor at all. even the fries were lacking any salt and tasted like frying oil that had been used far too long.

the best part of the meal for both of us was the complimentary bread that was brought out. combined with the flavored butter it was nice on the palate.

i wish i had checked urbanspoon to see the 76 rating before we went. we had opted to go because there always seems to be a good crowd there. after going, it looks to me that most people go in there for happy hour and to get a drink or two.

went for lunch with my family and had a great experience. the grilled steak salad, the greek salad with chicken, the tilapia burger, and the gouda and truffle oil burger were all outstanding. the prices were great also. would go back in a heart beat and would highly recommend.

service was terrible. everyones order was nothing like the menu described. even after telling them they just kept bringing out random toppings like they didn't know what the menu said. manager was nowhere to be found. we have tried this place three times only to be disappointed. we did have a good sunday brunch there about a year ago.

bad food, average service, overpriced for the dishes.

best martinis anywhere!. i work down the street and we started frequently south side about 4 months ago. i love the martini's, and their happy hour prices cannot be beat! strong drinks!

food is great too. i've never had bad service either. been there for happy hour mostly, but also a date night. great food, cute waitresses.

bad impression. i went in to south side for the first time tonight. my wife and i eat out all the time and were just looking for something new in the area. from the first step in the door, i felt as if i were being looked down upon to a degree. i'm sure i was not the best dressed person in the place but do i have to be? we were seated in the back with the waitress that had far more important people on her mind. i personally hate that. it seemed you needed to be a longtime customer to get proper service. the food wasn't the most wonderful thing that i have ever eaten but it was really good and it's not the kitchen guys' fault that the servers are pretentious. if i'm going to pay $90 before tip for dinner and two (bar) drinks......can i please be treated like i deserve to be here?

absolute worst ever. my sister and i were going out to dinner as a going away night for me going back to college. we were celebrating. we wanted to try something new and had never been to southside grill before. we looked at the menu online and it looked amazing. we were really excited about it. our server seemed to be messed up on something. she repeatedly tried to give our food or drinks to other tables, as she tried giving other people's food and drinks to us. i ordered a caesar salad with my meal and it came out in a hot bowl and the lettuce was hot and wilted. it tasted like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for a while. i ordered the black and bleu beef, which i thought would be tossed in a mainly blue cheese cream sauce. the sauce was very heavy and mostly cream... the dish had zero flavor. incredibly bland. when we brought this to the servers attention she offered to get me something else but i was already full. she kept asking me to get something else and she would have it out quickly. i decided to get something to-go and when we waited for 15 minutes when we were already done with our food, it was brought out.

this is where everything went very very wrong.

we received our check and after being repeatedly asked to get something else we figured they would make it right and take the meal off the check. they had not taken it off. the server had the manager take the meal off but in turn he replaced it with the meal that was ordered to-go. we told them that we had horrible service and the food was not good and the manager/owner came out and refused to take the meal off after we told him it was our first time and we did not enjoy it. he told us that thats not how things work and that if we didnt pay for it he would take the meal away. and thats what he did... he took the bag from us containing our food. as we were leaving we told him that we had never experienced such terrible customer service especially from an owner. wouldnt you want to have positive remarks made about your restaurant. now they just have wasted food. as we left the owner smartly piped "we hope you enjoyed your dining experience!"

never will we ever go back tot his establishment, bricks and merebulles are 1000 times better and have fantastic food, prices, and wonderful employees.
