let's just say the brunchmenuis not carb friendly. or has any vegetables to speak of. pancakes were still runny inside. eggs were tasteless. burgers had good flavor though a shame about the processed cheese on top of it.

and there's only so much queen i can listen to.

i've been here 3 times since this place opened, and every time have had some very tasty food and wine.  never had to wait for a table.  sometimes have had a little bit of a wait for the food to arrive, but really not too bad.  parking lot can get full as it is tiny, but the restaurant is tiny too.  actually, you could think of this place as more of a bar that serves food since they have placed the bar both indoors and outdoors, and have a "backyard" for drinking.  but with a location in the heights (which is dry), maybe they don't want to emphasize that bit.  anyway, yes, themenuis small and a little confusing.  they could improve on that.  the food is quite good.

i really wanted to love this place. it's very cute, great location. the bar selection is great... definitely recommend an old fashioned.

however, i found the food to range from just ok to poor. i should say i am not a fan of overly fatty meat and the dish i got contained a cut of beef that was 90% fat. i wish they would expand theirmenuto include more options with leaner meats!

the wait for a table for three at 7:00 pm on a saturday was 30 minutes, which i didn't think was bad at all, especially given the recent popularity of southern goods. the inside of the restaurant is rustic and dim, and the outside patio is airy and dreamily lit with string lights.

once seated inside, we took a look at the menu, which is pretty small, but filled with creative, delicious-sounding plates. themenuitems are organized by size, having the smaller plates listed on top, and increasing in size the further down you go. this setup reminded me of themenuat cured in san antonio.

i heard about this place from my hair dresser and only live a few blocks away so had to try it.  had a friend in from out of town so good opportunity.  it was mid week so not too crowded or anything.  the food was very good.  based onmenuit seemed most dishes might be a little heavy, but portions did not seem to be texas size so that was good.  my friend got the tuna special and i got the grouper.  probably the only 2 lighter main courses on the menu.  her dish came out very quickly.  mine ended up not coming out for 20 min or longer after hers.  we asked the waitress if mine was coming about 5 min after my friend received hers and she said that their food came out as it was done.  seemed a bit odd to me.  about 10 min later she said it would be out in 3 min.  we were busy talking but after about 20 min finally realized this is getting a bit crazy.  looked for waitress but noticed she is also the bar tender so she was not real attentive after she took our order.  a few min later the chef (i think) brought it out and offered to reheat my friends food since she was being polite and waiting until i received my food to eat.  he did immediately offer to comp my meal, which was the right thing to do before i had to ask and apologized for the delay.

i would give this place another chance in the future once they get the teething pains out of the way because the food was really good.  and it is too close to my house to dismiss this early.
