southerleigh brewing company

i just had to respond to the review above by nunley. i would have taken you seriously except that you think arcade is better than bakery lorraine, il sogno, nao, and sandbar. you sir, have terrible taste.... i have been to southerleigh only for events but the food was delicious, looking forward to trying a dinner service.

southerleigh is a foodie's paradise. beautiful building with a very texas feel inside. the bartenders were very knowledgeable and enjoyed their job. i had a beer flight and then had 2 other beers and there were all fantastic. the menu probably isn't for everyone, but i could rave about it. don't skip on the crab mac & cheese.....it's worth every calorie.

sit in front of the kitchen and me in the middle of all the action! david - one of the cooks- was great to talk to! it was one of the best meals we've ever had- fine dining twists on traditional favorites!

this is one of my favorite places in san antonio. it is sooooo delicious. everything i've ordered i've really liked. this restaurant is also a microbrewery, so the beer flight is a must order. set in the pearl brewery, this place is bound to be one of the most talked about restaurants in san antonio. this historic building is beautifully decorated and the branding is on point. props to southerleigh and the whole team behind the concept.

southerleighs is really good, southern, home cooking. the deviled eggs are a must must must have!! food is expensive, especially if you grew up with a southern mom who could cook almost everything on the menu just as well (except southerleighs deviled eggs which i'm pretty sure are gods favorite food). but, they make everything fresh, utilizing the ingredients sold at the pearl farmers market. so you're getting that farm fresh southern food that you may remember from your grandmas plantation kitchen, but you can't get anymore without a time machine. i think it's actually deceptively simple cooking, which is the best kind of cooking, and requires a really great chef to get right. worth the visit for sure.

the beers are good, nothing special necessarily, but as good as anyone else. overall really good food, great atmosphere, good beer. what more could you ask for? except 12 more deviled eggs!!!

we were told about southerleigh's by a worker at the riverwalk plaza hotel. what a nice find. i started with a flight of beer since they brew they're own beer it was a treat. i got the fried chicken not expecting to get great southern cooking in san antonio but that is what we got..would highly recommend staff was very nice, at the moment they have a small sign but they are by the pearl.

at the very least, the pretzels, craft beer, and iced gulf shrimp were fabulous. on our next visit we'll sit at the bar and try the oysters.  the service was a tad spotty, but the casual ambiance was very relaxing on this tuesday evening.

for a good time call... southerleigh for reservation asap! great beer selection and wonderful rotating menu. we started with the fried snapper throats accompanied by cayenne remoulade and aioli, 2 flights of beer that deserve a post of their own. next came the beef oxtail pie with whipped tarragon potatoes and crumbled blue cheese ( rich savory delectable) and the local lamb tenderloin and grilled lamb belly (perfect medium rare- cooked to perfection). sides of decadent crab mac and cheese and old fashioned buttered cornbread. only thing i regret is not sticking around for dessert and next time i'm taking more friends that i can coerce into ordering something different so i can try all things on the menu! highly recommend- the staff was grand and the atmosphere fun and eclectic!
